I would make this point on the main forum, but not a member there, but please read that thread for more background. Having read the insolvency report usefully provided by FC, I am still struggling with one thing. The loan was issued in order to assist the borrower to buy another law firm. However, the insolvency report stated that the borrower's firm was going to be bought be the other law firm, with a commission payable to yet another firm controlled by the borrower for referrals - so what was our money used for? In the general spirit of 'is this fraud' - it damn well sounds like it to me.

Yes it’s fraud and he’s being allowed to continue practicing with various restrictions.
