"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of MoneyThings:
Of Sian and Aoife and SophieThing
And all the other Things--
And why The Shuang is so red-hot--
And whether Ed has wings."
"But wait a bit," the Oysters cried,
"Before we have our chat;
For some of us need more good loans
To make our holdings fat!"
No problem!" said Ed Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.
"A good SM," the Walrus said,
"Is what we chiefly need:
So Ed and Shuang worked very hard
To make the best indeed—
“Now if you're ready, Oysters dear,
You can begin to feed."
"Oh joy for us!" the Oysters cried,
Trying out a few.
"After much lending, this will be
A wondrous thing to do!"
"The SM is fine," the Walrus said.
"Do you admire the view?”
"It was so kind of you to make
An SM that’s very nice!"
Ed Carpenter said nothing but
"Thanks for your advice;
Unlike SS we’re not so deaf--
No need to ask us twice!"
"T'would be a shame," the Walrus said,
"Were MT to miss a trick,
So bring us cars, gold, land, and art
And we can diversify quick!”
The Oysters all said nothing but
“Loans cannot come too thick!”
"I weep for the rest," the Walrus said:
"I deeply sympathize.
For without The Shuang they haven’t a prayer
With MoneyThing on the rise.”,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.
"O Oysters," said Ed Carpenter,
"It’s time for me to run!
I must be trotting home again
On my two legs plus one!”
And this was scarcely odd, because
He was a Manxland Son!
