Is it manual? The reason I ask is that, in failing to get to sleep last night I ended up looking through my P2P investments and noticed that £50 of one of the renewal loans (I forget which) was available. This was at about 2am. I immediately transferred funds, but the deposit didn't arrive on my balance until half past eight this morning. By the time I eventually woke up the loan part had been bought.....
Cheers,
RM

It is manual, which is why you have to tip them the wink when you do a bank transfer, so they can immediately watch their bank account for the arrival. This gives you a uniquely fast transfer of funds to your MoneyThing account, but only when the team is conscious.

I arranged my first transfer via the MT website, selecting Deposit etc. I assume that a wink to MT is advisable only when transferring money from an external source (eg from my bank to MT). I couldn't find a way to notify MT of my transfer within its website. Loggging in next afternoon and selecting "My Funds" indicated a zero balance, initially puzzling but on selecting "Deposit History" my transfer did show even though it reported "Pending" under the status heading. Presumably some manual intervention is still needed for my transfer to register under "Statement".

The "pending" deposit transaction appears once you've clicked Deposit and entered the sum you're going to be transferring in from your bank. This will doubtless then be reconciled with your transfer as soon as the office reopens tomorrow.

All money transfers are from an external source, i.e.your bank. You are requested to tell MoneyThing when you have initiated a bank transfer. They will then enter it into your account as "Pending" and watch their bank account for its arrival, when they will update your account and mark the transfer as "confirmed". From MoneyThing's website, under "Deposit": To deposit funds into your MoneyThing account please follow the steps below. 1. Make a bank transfer. (Please be sure to include the 'Payment reference' in your transfer.) 2. Enter the payment details below and click 'Submit'. Once we receive your deposit into the MoneyThing bank account we will update your MoneyThing account.

I tended to read the process as "to make a transfer, enter your details below" I had to read it several times in order to believe what it was really saying but this was more from the point of not having funds in the transfer account if the amount was attempted to be drawn twice.

Just made an online payment from my bank. then used the deposit form on MT website. funds acknowledged by MT in <5 minutes. However i was also confused the 1 st time, maybe MoneyThing could make the instructions a bit clearer?

I made a deposit today (fnarr fnarr) and having seen davex's post I took some trouble to review what has become very familiar to me (having long forgotten whether I was confused first time round). And I have to say the clarity could be improved upon. To wit: "Enter the payment details below". Well the immediate 'below' is actually the MT bank and lender reference information, and your current 'nominated account'. It is confusing on first reading. It could read: 1. Make a bank transfer to the MT account as detailed below (please be sure ......). 2. Enter the amount you are transferring [paying in] into the box below and click 'Submit'.

Interestingly I made a four figure deposit at about the same time, and followed it up with an email (which in hindsight could have been more useful). It's not been credited yet. There's no criticism of MoneyThing here, I'm just trying to get my expectations set right....

And in. Probably missed a deposit run earlier. 2330 on a Friday night is above and beyond the call of duty!
