Does the comment below from the FAQs mean that if I add funds tonight it will be seen as "technically" deposited within 48 hrs .. I am looking to get into a couple of loans but this concerns me as my account would be in a minus state until Tuesday...?
Funds deposited before 5pm will be credited to your account the following morning, with the exception of weekends when deposits will be treated as a Monday deposit and will be credited on Tuesday morning.

If you want to buy loan parts, go ahead, as long as you have the funds available for them. Do the transfer any time during the weekend or Monday (before 5). I would not leave it for the last minute if I were you.

I am in a minus state atm, sent funds at 5.30pm, still picking up bits on the SM, may have to add more funds before Tuesday.......... it's busy since 073 went live. I have sent an email to confirm that funds are on the way. Don't forget to include your Payment Reference.
Edit: Having send funds at 5.30pm Friday nice to see credited at 9.30am Saturday.

SS send emails telling investors that they have a negative balance and asking them to clear it. Presumably the sending of those emails is automated. Are there going to be a large number of those sent early tomorrow morning? Or is the system smart enough to know that when a loan is released late on a Friday afternoon there's no way an investor can have a bank transfer credited to their account before Tuesday morning and therefore not send any of those emails unless a balance still is negative at lunchtime on Tuesday?

I can tell you it wasn't smart enough last week. It sent me two emails at 10:41 and 10:43 last Saturday asking me to clear my negative balance.

I, too, received a brace of emails asking for payment. I bought and transferred money on the same day but that didn't stop SS asking for payment twice within 24 hours of the initial purchase. Felt a little hard done by, when they say you have up to 48 hours but still double nag you within a day. I hope they don't use that information for compiling a black list...

I have never had an email about a negative balance, some of you must be on their "watch list"
My guess is that email was sent too early in error.

I didn't manage to send my funds until after 6pm yesterday so was very surprised to see them credited this morning!

At one time I was wondering if it was even worth bothering sending the payment same day or scheduling it for Mon given they allegedly wouldn't credit it til Tues anyway but didn't want to risk being that cheeky!

Same thoughts here - I nearly left it as I doubted it would be processed till next week, but given that the ability to go to a negative balance is such a good facility, I don't want to abuse it !

I am still in negative balance and have not transferred yet - not to abuse, just have not made up my mind if I should sell some loans to balance or transfer more. My p2p investment in SS is already a very large percentage of my p2p. I'll make up my mind today.

They should deduct you the interest you have earned whilst not clearing the negative balance.
