Judging by the speed with which loans disappear some users are using some form of automation. I have recently tried a browser alert which tells me if the loans page has changed, but I have never managed to react fast enough to get a loan so I suppose other automatic systems must be faster. Perhaps MT could give some more detailed guidance on what level of automation is acceptable. para 9.6 of the T&C says:
"You will not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the secure areas of the Website or Platform and furthermore you will not attempt to use code or software to manipulate or automate functions available on our website."
Does my use of the alert infringe?
I have posed the question here rather than privately to MT as it is of general interest.

My view would be that an automated browser alert doesn't breach the current T&Cs as it doesn't perform any function on the website (it merely "looks" at the page and then alerts you). However a bot that then purchased available parts certainly would be in breach of the T&Cs.
I've not attempted to buy anything on the MT SM for some time, but I've certainly noticed some of the parts I've listed for sale disappear EXTREMELY quickly recently, even at around 7am!

Morning,
We have noticed that there appears to be a few registered investors using automated browser refresh and change notification tools/plugins/alerts, (especially after someone posted on here how to do it and what tools to use). From our perspective, in the absence of any additional software/tools to then place a bid automatically, this does not infringe on our interpretation of what is acceptable.
Certainly from our monitoring of the transactions, there doesn't appear to be any automated bidding scripts/programs at play... at least so far.
Kind regards,
Ed

I have no doubt that MT does not have the problems that SS has in this regard because on MT money has to be left in the account in order to be able to buy. I strongly recommend MT to resist any overtures to introduce a SS style buy-now-pay-later scheme.
