im confused by the valuations on art, is mt239 the same piece of art that i could purchase directly from darren baker fine arts for £6100 sorry if this is a numpty question but i dont usually do art Those are reproductions (Ed has one of them hanging on the wall of Thing Towers iirc... on the inside I hope), the MT loans are secured against the originals. Thats an expensive copy

Ok, just had a quick gander and looking at MT240 (very similar to 'In Waiting IV' up for sale in the originals section @ £14k) our loan is £5k against security value of £11k. Seems within reason to me. I don't see MT239 in there, I'm looking here, where did you see it for sale at £6100 nush?

The one you linked to is pretty small (6x8) - my guess is the artist did a few originals in different sizes and that the MT thing is a larger one.

To be honest you'd probably be lucky to get any of it anyway as renewals go really quickly - although art renewals may be a bit slower as people are generally a bit more wary of them

hence the question, i would probably leave it as i am close to having as much in MT as i want although if the right loan came up then that could change.
