Has anyone taken advantage of this? The terms and conditions state 'Your bonus will be deposited into the Access Product after 1 year, at the Market Rate within 1 week of qualifying'. As a newbie can someone explain whether this is good or not. Thanks

If they extended it to "dormant" former lenders like me then I'd happily take it up!

Yes very good. When I joined 18 months or so ago this offer was on then. Don't make the mistake I made though and ensure you invest in the right market, I have an annoying habit of not reading the offers properly and with their cash back offer a while ago I invested in the monthly market and didn't realise this didn't qualify me for the bonus until the bonus period had elapsed!

"Market rate" is the default "Let us do it for you" rate - it's not typically the best you'll get, but I doubt the difference would be a penny on a hundred quid over a month.

The best tip I can give you about starting with Ratesetter is that when lending, click on the link ... "Are you a RateSetter expert? Set your own rate here." Mark

What's the tax position on receiving the £100 bonus and the £50 referrer bonus? It doesn't count as "interest" I guess, but I assume they're taxable somehow...

Thanks for the warm welcome, p2plender I suspect there will be a lot more newbies once the RS IFISA gets off the ground...

Welp, I opened an account and stuck my first £1,000 in today. To be fair, I'll need to stick around longer than five minutes to qualify for my bonus

So I am new to RS but would like to take advantage of the £100 bonus by investing 1000. However I would like to just add a ten pounds for a start to see the website etc. If I add 10 and then tomorrow 1000 will I still be able to take advantage of the £100 bonus? Thank you

Thank you Not necessarily, the T&Cs state: " This offer is only open to new customers with a minimum of £1,000 matched within 30 days of opening an account, and kept on the market for at least 1 year" I would call Customer Services to get an exact answer if you're still not sure: www.ratesetter.com/aboutus/contactusKevin.

I think the T&Cs quoted above make it clear that the money does not all have to go in at once. But it all has to be invested (actually matched) within 30 days.
