I've just tried applying. The procedure seems to imply you need to lend immediately at the indicated (presumably the lowest) rate, however I jumped out at stage 3 or 4 since I wanted to place a bid. This all seems a bit underhand. Does this mean I've forfeited the chance of the £100 bonus?
I'm still trying to work out what a realistic bid level is, and how the provision fund works. Are all lenders treated equally irrespective of the order of application, agreed loan rate and term, or do some get priority?

I doubt it, if you haven't completed the sign up process. What market do you want to invest in? To lend today/tomorrow you would probably need to pick 3.4-3.5 on one year*, 4.8% to lend now on 3year (could be lucky with 4.9% today), and 6.1% to lend now on 5 year.
Rates may well drop a bit tomorrow, and probably rise again by Wednesday/Thursday. I would think 6.3% is achievable by then on the five year market, though the 3year market could well drop quite a bit.
*not really competitive, but one month market is no good to get your "eventual" bonus.
PS It is very easy to change your rate (or change markets) later if you feel you have been too "optimistic" or just want to switch. You don't have to actually make a match today in order to trigger off your year's lending - it will start when the cash is actually lent, so lowest rate is not a must.

I've received the confirmation Email
however, the application process appeared to include a step: how much do you wish to invest (or similar, no other option) although you just ignore that and just jump out.
I've downloaded the history of the rates, at least the data was comprehensive. I'm just a bit niffed at the style of application, I've never seen this before with other P2Ps
