Thought I’d give a newbie (well to Collateral) summary of my recent platform experience. With the very fast and shiny Things drying up on MT, I was looking for some more asset diversification so I thought I’d finally give Collateral a try. I signed up and made a test deposit very late one evening, which was impressively quick. I made a further deposit the following morning which was again very speedily credited. I made a withdrawal very late one evening, at the same time as I made an MT one, and whilst the MT one didn’t arrive ‘till early the next morning, the Collateral one was in my bank in minutes. I have bought and sold on the PM and SM and everything has been very slick and smooth. Initial observations? You don’t need quite so many as on a few other platforms I could mention. Not being quite sure where new loans would appear I was frantically refreshing both the Available and Pipeline (is this ever used for anything?) loan pages; then something glittery appeared and being almost fully funded I pounced thinking I’d just managed to get into one of the new loans, realising afterwards I’d just made my first SM purchase! The new loans followed at a slightly leisurely pace starting from just gone 10 ish, and took considerably more than 5 seconds to fill – what a pleasant change. Don’t know how many investors they have (is there any way of telling?), obviously not too many yet, long may it last. So, all round a big congrats to Collateral for an efficient and simple to use platform; and as ever thanks to all the contributors here who make P2P investing an easier and much better informed experience.

There tends to be a bit of FFF leading up to 10am (on days when there are new loans) - I have seen things coming and going as early as 7:30 (can't speak for earlier than that). I think there are several who have reached their current platform limit and diversify on a daily basis.

Agreed, agreed, agreed - I too was looking for diversification and home for further funds and recently signed up. Excellent website, fast deposits and withdrawals and easy to get a good spread of loans without deploying fff.
But sssshhhhhhhh don't tell everyone or they'll all be signing up and then we will need fff!

Agree with others here, re: Collateral - great for diversification and a really efficient, easy-to use site. The Collateral Rep does an excellent job on here too, keeping everyone informed and answering any queries. Incidentally can someone help a newbie to the forum with terminology? FF..? FFF...? (pretty sure its nothing to do with Fernando Forestieri - a regular topic for discussion on another forum I'm also a member of! )

Ahh bu..a for the first time ever this forum has caused me to waste 5 seconds of my life, I googled Fernando Forestieri expecting to find a lost in history philosopher/artist/engineer ... and what did I find .................. I too am a newcomer to CO and I can only reiterate what has already been written in earlier posts of this thread. I back read most of the CO threads on this forum before venturing in, everything looked good and so it has proved, impressed. Getting back to my original sentence, compulsive reading for me and never a second of my time wasted with a blog I love ..... try googling 'underwhelming-fossil-fish-of-the-month' .... and yes it is what it says on the tin!

I agree with all the positive comments. Just for balance, I have to say that their platform has been the most bug ridden of all those I use. However they have tried to fix faults as they are reported.

I think that I agree with most of whats been said here. Seems a steady supply of loans and I am still experimenting. I would find it a bit better if I could ball park value some of the items a bit better.

1st of October [Saturday]... Collateral Staff were up bright and early today to process our monthly interest payments, fund withdrawal actioned less than 10 minutes after my site request was submitted, 10/10 for consideration and commitment. Collateral Rep, Big Thank you for looking after the details. Best regards. Ditto 🖒 collateral service continues to trump every other platforms for deposit and withdrawals. Looking forward to more loans next week.

I'm considering whether to start investing on this platform. I was initially put off by posts over teething issues / bugs over the calculation of interest and other account problems. These seem to have been largely resolved from looking at recent posts on the forum, although I noticed last month someone complaining about payments being debited rather than credited from their account! Are members no fairly comfortable over the accounting of funds or do you need to invest time in ensuring the accuracy of account information?
Is the platform big enough to deploy say £10k relatively quickly or will this be a challenge at this time?
Any comments from current investor experiences would be welcome! I'm a fairly experienced p2p investor and I'm fair active across FC, SS, MT and FS, but continue to look to diversify across platforms to reduce my exposure to any one platform.

I think that because they - very fairly IMO - mostly place maximum bids on loans, it may take you a while to work through 10K on new loans. And as there is no auto-invest feature, it's a very hands-on process. (Although I prefer to pick my loans anyway).

I've done exactly what you are proposing, this time last month, as some of my established platforms no longer offer what I require; I trust the platform & admin, although like any new, fast growing platform I'm sure there will be minor problems - I've yet to experience any myself.
Although most new/renewal loans have bid limits there is often SM activity in the run up to launches & if you are lucky with your timing you can pick up several hundred £'s at a time. £10k in a month is not unrealistic, obviously depending on how much time you wish/can to give to SM monitoring.
