Until now, I have been impressed by collateral.
Speed of deposits and withdrawals. Customer service. Etc.
This morning has been shambolic.
An explanation, please, Collateral.
If no reasonable explanation is forthcoming, I shall withdraw my funds and not reinvest until the site is more professional.

Hi,
The honest answer is that the developers have been caught out with the success of the platform. Which is disappointing to say the least.
They are working on this now.

Gordon Thank you for swift reply. Until now, I have rated collateral very highly. Let's hope it can be sorted quickly. Good luck.

Didnt you guys big up the potential enough? Thought youd been loitering on this site for a while, would of thought the evidence from both SS and more obviously MT, FS pawn would have given you an indication of how things probably would go.

Hi Gordon. Are you sure this is simply down to platform success and increased usage? If that were the case I would have expected response to gradually become slower over time. What seems to occur is that the system is running fine for days/weeks and then suddenly becomes almost unusable. This has now happened at least twice to my knowledge. From my experience this suggests either a process hogging cpu or gradually hogging memory and not releasing. If this is the case then it clearly needs fixing but in the meantime a server reboot may provide a temporary solution.

It seemed to get gradually better as people gave up/finished their coffee breaks.

I put some cash in half an hour ago in preparation for the upcoming watch loan; it went through in the usual couple of minutes.

Afternoon Gordon; I'm sure you're a bit snowed under at the moment so I'm not going to have a moan. I'm sure you realise that this 2nd debacle is seriously threatening the credibility of your platform.I've placed a great deal of faith (and money) in your platform and really do want you to succeed, but I honestly don't know if you can survive another morning like this. Consequently can I make a plea: please don't release ANY more loans until you are 100% sure that your platform won't fall over again.

Yes, you do have to do this if you are in a hurry. I transferred cash at 9:50 ish this morning and it was acknowledged and applied to my account within four minutes. (Same applies with MT)

Collateral Rep : As said earlier I think if you release loan on time at exact 10:00:00 that should alleviate a problem a bit as first people will be buying the loan and then leaving. But when you start delaying more and more people just refreshing the page constantly and slows/crashes the site.

I’ve been a member of Collateral for about 3 months now and write this not as a knee jerk reaction to this morning’s events. I worked in the IT industry for over 20 years. I haven’t been impressed with Collateral’s technical competency since the start. Yes, they have a decent looking website but their basic background processes appear to be falling short far too often. In the brief time I’ve been a member we have had such basic mistakes as not being able to calculate monthly interest correctly and display the correct information in users’ accounts. The recent issues just throw more wood on the fire. There are far too many basic IT errors being made, which should be picked up before the events reach the public domain. If you have outsourced your technical support, I suggest you need to think about changing supplier. If it’s in house, you need to be thinking about personnel/role changes. Hmm... my experience in IT is only 15 years but I'd rather have a slow and buggy platform (*) with users and business case than a project that is being designed & developed for years, is a bottomless pit for money and never launches. (*) as long as the bugs are being fixed, reliability improves, communication is good and users are listened to. MT great example, COL on a good path.
