hoy , To be honest we didn't experience much difference at our end, maybe a slight delay on refreshing. We advised the developers and the servers seemed fine also. If there are any further updates I'll post here. Many thanks, Gordon

Hi, I'll get the developers to look to see if there were any issues with the server etc this morning. Many thanks, Gordon Do we have any feedback yet on yesterday's poor performance? Also, any news on your external review of Collateral's I.T. function? What is the external review of the IT function?

Contrary to other posters I found the site the other day very quick. Bid processed without any sign of the usual processing bar along the top.

Contrary to other posters I found the site the other day very quick. Umm. Did you mean you found the site very quickly, or did you mean you found the site to be very quick (or perhaps fast). Just asking.

Also, any news on your external review of Collateral's I.T. function? What is the external review of the IT function? Given there's been a number of security concerns over Collateral's website/approach to security, the question was asked as to whether their website/database/IT systems and policies have been independently audited by an a reputable security firm? So far Collateral haven't provided an answer to this... At the moment, the impression I and several others get is that their website/security etc were written/are maintained by a single person - who also seems to be outsourced, rather than being a direct employee of Collateral's having a sole responsibility for overseeing security at Collateral alone, as Collateral don't have the necessary security expertise "in house". There's been no confirmation/evidence to suggest that Collateral's website/database/infrastructure has undergone a professional independent security audit... which is worrying and the main reason why - as much as I'd like to invest with Collateral - I've so far not felt comfortable enough with their security.

Ah, sounded like it was an announced thing. Independent security audits would be a good thing for the FCA to demand, if that is within their remit. Some sort of standardised authorisation that they have been independently checked by XYZ security firm against a checklist of things. I did see your comment about the unsecured http: account login the other day greatmarko and saw that they resolved it without a thanks to you. If it is outsourced.. I wonder what they are paid them for a $99 theme: my.studiopress.com/themes/parallax/

Ah, apologies hoy! It would need nice though if Gordon could make a similar commitment to an external review of security as he has to an external review of "performance" in the post you highlighted!

Independent security audits would be a good thing for the FCA to demand, if that is within their remit. Some sort of standardised authorisation that they have been independently checked by XYZ security firm against a checklist of things. ISO 27000 exists for such purposes. However, the FCA currently only have "draft" guidance on IT infrastructure security: " Data security and standards: the FCA recommends a separate data security risk assessment of the firm's technology estate and the service provider and, linked to this, it states that as part of pre-contract due diligence and contract management it may be helpful if service providers are compliant with applicable information security standards, the logic being that a service provider's adherence to (for example) ISO 27000-series indicates robust data security processes."

Morning,
We did have an external review done which suggested some changes which the developers implemented resulting in the site performance improving.
We are also currently going through a server audit with Security Metrics which at the end will provide as with a PCI Compliance certificate - which means we are secure enough to hold credit card details if required.
Like some other platforms, we do use a £159 WordPress framework and theme for the front end, but the investor area is bespoke and not WordPress.
