I see I now have a little yellow flag suggesting I'm "at risk of being outbid" on C****** P***** A*********.
As the target is only 87% covered, does anyone know the criteria for this "panic" flag, what is its purpose and what possible action does it suggest I should take? ... er, none?
Maybe once the target loan has been met and further bidding starts to knock out the later, high interest bidders it would have a purpose.

*If you believe you're about to witness your higher rate bids 'knocked out' during the latter stages of an auction then you may wish to consider the merits of rebidding at a lower rate, Is it possible to rebid, or do you mean place a further bid in the expectation that your original IS outbid?

Thank you for your detailed explanation of the bidding process et al.
What I was trying to ascertain was whether or not there is a way you can "rebid" using existing pledged funds, or if you can only bid further funds at a lower rate if the first bid is "at risk".
I'm fairly sure of the answer to my question, but your earlier post did seem to suggest that you could "rebid".

@magenta14 & kevinkelly May I add to your comments.... If you use new money to under bid yourself when the target has been reached, you are effectively knocking your own higher % bids out, or moving them nearer the tipping point. If you wait until you are outbid, you risk finishing up 2-3% points down. If you have made additional bids at the same % rate through the process (as funds become available) they accumulate on the table on the original dateline, but they get outbid/deleted by virtue of the actual date they are added, so it is important to keep a record yourself of the amount & date you make additional bids. As you say, it is good to see some urgent bidding activity, not seen for quite a while, but it does require a better focus on our initial % rate if we want to avoid chasing the bid rate downhill later! All we need now is (as well as a few more recoveries) a few more bulk bidders to get the better big auctions moving! Regards all. |
