Quick newbie question:
Must I deposit money from my registered bank account or can I use any account in my name provided I specify the correct MoneyThing reference number?

I believe it needs to be from the bank account you've registered with MT. Certainly the MT payment reference includes digits from your registered bank account number.

I manage to make payments in to my Wife's account using one of my own accounts as well as hers.

I suspect 'funds from elsewhere' is acceptable - seems to be the case for most other P2P platforms, and even other investments. The only time I have been stopped in my tracks was by HL, when I tried to fund partner's ISA with a debit card which was in another name (mine). The reference number is what links it to the MT (or SS, or whatever) account, not where it come from. FC was particularly joyous, since you could accidentally credit the account of whoever was previously logged in, although I believe that is now fixed.

Thanks for the replies.
I tried it out this morning and had deposits to MT accepted from 3 separate accounts (all in my name).
(saves shuffling funds around before depositing)

I manage to make payments in to my Wife's account using one of my own accounts as well as hers. Just so you know, thats a breach of their terms and conditions, which require that the money come from an account in the same name. I assume that joint accounts would comply.
