The 1 year market appears to have been cleared out at least twice today. I've matched several chunks at rates up to 5.6%, and I know I missed the peak of the first clearout. Available funds were down to £22k the first time and £57k the second time.

Last matched rate in 1 year was 3.3%.
It is really difficult to understand why people lend at this rate when they can get 5%+ by waiting a while.
It is not just that today's "lend right now" rate is 3.3% - there are new lenders at 3.5%, 3.6%, 3/7%, 3.8% ...
Sometimes the low rates are big chunks of money, so it is not only people re-investing small repayments.
Weird.

There are many weird and inexplicable things that happen in the RS 'market'. Once upon a time I thought I understood the simple RS model and I liked it.
However now you can call me simple as I realise that I do not have a clue as to what is going on or why, and I like it much less; so reinvesting elsewhere.
