RateSetter have surveyed MoneyWeek readers on the topic of peer-to-peer lending, and have published the results. There are a few interesting statistics such as 93% of respondents indicated they believed peer-to-peer offers better value than banks, and 87% believe peer-to-peer a good investment opportunity. I've published the results, courtesy of RateSetter on my blog blog.p2pmoney.co.uk/moneyweek-survey-on-p2p.

I was struck by question 6: What's more risky? Business or consumer P2P lending? Yes/NoOh dear. Yes or no? Made worse by the analysis (of the 50%/50% response, however that happened for an impossible question...): "This result suggests that not everyone is clear about what types of risks are associated with each". I would suggest the result suggests you cannot state a choice between two alternatives with the words "yes" or "no"..... The text continues "Business P2P lending is the risker [sic] option," A little later: "There are [sic] not a large number of creditors..."Good grief. Proofreading services are available for a modest fee. Let me know. I didn't dare explore further, as typography and proof reading used to be high on my agenda as a working person, before I retired and found the time to indulge in my favourite pastime of pedantry.

Quite so.
To complete the survey, please answer the following:
Are you male or female? Choose from 1: Cheddar 2: The District Line 3: £4.50 a kilo.

I think a recent Assetz Capital survey had some odd unanswerables. One was along the lines of "Will you be lending more during holidays?" ... not sure how to take that! There was no option for "Holidays are not relevant in my lending"

Guys, This is Moneyweek we are talking about. Their major driver seems to be trying to flog you their investment rag, full of don't buy property buy gold stories. Wonder how that is working out for them?
