The forum staff see no need to publicly name and shame those individuals that have been banned from this forum for repeatedly ignoring the forum rules. Many forum users use the same forum alias across multiple forum and social media sites, including those not connected with p2p investing, and publicly associating their alias with negativity is not something that should be undertaken lightly.
There are occaisons when the forum staff feel a more detailed explanation behind our actions is appropriate, but this is not one of those occaisons.

As many may be aware we recently put the Forum into Maintenance Mode due to widespread disruption from a group of forum members. Our staff team is currently depleted and we were unable to consult or act quickly on this occasion. It's with regret that we have taken the action to permanently ban several forum members. We have no intention of tolerating baiting/ bullying/trolling or whatever you want to call it in the future, it has no place here. With our thanks to the rest of you for bearing with us, we can only hope that we are not forced into this position again.
There was no intention of closing the forum permanently. If we should come to the point where the forum is unsustainable in the future and needs to close we would of course allow access for members to obtain copies of their posts and PMs.

Loan MTBF935 contains the following confidentiality clause in the loan description.
Confidentiality Please note that the terms of this loan have been marked as confidential. While all details on the MoneyThing platform are provided on this basis, in this case it is a particular condition of ************** that details of *********** are not disclosed.
Lenders are reminded of our website Terms of Use that they agreed to when signing up to MoneyThing or accepting on platform which state that you will keep confidential and will not disclose to any third party any information that is marked or otherwise indicated as being confidential.
The Loan Agreement, any documents relating to Security, and any information provided by or on behalf of a potential or actual Borrower is private and confidential and you may not (unless required by law) disclose such information to anyone, including discussion on any public forum and on any discussion forum on the Platform.
The thread that was started earlier today for this loan has been been replaced with the following announcement.
Whilst MT's and/or the borrower's intent may have been to prevent one specific detail concerning the loan from being discussed, the final paragraph of the confidentiality clause appears to prevent public discussion of any information concerning details of this specific loan. Forum staff are not legal experts, and have acted in good faith based on the information available to them at the present time.

We are pleased to announce that DD Central, the home for un-redacted crowd DD, has launched.DD Central contains a general discussion board, and sub-boards for ABL/COL/FS/L/MT/HC/U plus one to discuss cross platform loans & borrowers. The boards may become known as the "orange pages" as they are shaded in a similar manner to the AC Private Board's "pink pages". The concept may change over time based on user feedback and received advice, just as the whole forum has evolved. Access to DD Central is available to every forum member who has a historic post count of at least 50, and whose forum profile is not "flagged" (i.e. excluding those who are Representative of ..., Associate of ..., Editor of ...., Runs ..., P2P Blogger etc). Everyone with access to DD Central (with the exception of forum staff) will be flagged "Member of DD Central". A full list of the DD Central members is available here. All forum rules will continue to apply to posts made in DD Central, with the exception of the need to redact borrower and asset details. Forum staff have become aware that a private, invitation only P2P forum is in operation; membership is drawn from this forum and includes many long-standing P2PIF members. While we do not know full numbers, we believe its membership to be in excess of 60+. Knowing this, we believe we have a duty to make this public, and to remind forum users that no post on this forum should necessarily be taken at face value.
Why Are We Making This Announcement ?
We are not inferring or implying any specific action or motive on the part of the private forum members. With a public forum such as ours, there is always the potential for a group of members to co-ordinate outside of public postings. However, given the quantum of membership of the private forum, the potential for co-ordinated behaviours and postings into this public forum and their impact needs to be taken into account. Hence we concluded it was imperative to make this public.
We have invited the members of this group to reveal their membership, their purpose, their charter, and why they believe a separate hidden forum is required, but have been unable to establish that. Apart from apparently “absolute secrecy”, we do know there is an absolute bar on membership by any P2PIF forum staff.
While we do think that some 'Due Diligence' discussions may well be better conducted out of the public eye – and we are investigating how we might expedite that – this clearly does leave a genuine perception problem regarding possible motivation. While we hope that any Due Diligence findings are accurately and rapidly disseminated into this forum, we are in no position to satisfy ourselves to that being the case.
What Does It Mean for This Forum ?
Currently we believe this forum should remain open, including allowing guest viewing. We want it to operate in the spirit of open sharing of information, and where appropriate with dialogue/engagement from platforms. A public facing forum is required in order to attract fresh membership, and to allow interaction with non-lenders. This means we have to operate with certain constraints, which also then takes up considerable volunteer time to maintain. We have considered whether to shut down this forum, not least due to the perceived risk arising from membership overlap, and the potential for difficulties recruiting additional moderators for the forum. However, we have concluded that we should not for the time being.
As mentioned, we are considering a mechanism for a closed door initial Due Diligence section (crucially with staff visibility). We will also be initiating a request for feedback on the operation and moderation of this forum.
We will not respond to any requests to name known co-members.

A post was made regarding a brickowner referral in this sub-board which in the view of the forum staff was inappropriate as well as being in breach of several forum rules. It was felt by board staff that a response to the post should be in the General p2x section as well. The post above was originally made in the General Equities -> Brickowner thread.
All indications were that the account from which this post was made was operated from the same location as other accounts tagged as belonging to "Brickowner". There was no request for it to be tagged as a platform rep. account; indeed the contents of this post would have been at odds with it being tagged as such. Additionally, the account was either registered by a senior executive level employee of brickowner, or someone choosing to deliberately masquerade as that person, by virtue of the associated account email address. The post was made a few minutes after the account was created.
Brickowner representatives were approached for comment. The explanation given was that the company had recently taken on someone on a part-time and trial basis, and had made the post without higher level authorisation, rather than by the identified exec.
The post was read and re-quoted before this was identified, and on the basis of the above the board staff believe that a statement of the facts as known should be made through this post. From a board staff perspective, the matter is now closed.

blatant self promotional irrelevant posts will be given short shrift! .. ......but, imho, the mods really ought to be giving some gentle (and not-so-gentle) nudges. adrianc : some gentle nudges have been given to at least one recently, hopefully to some affect, though not to @investmentmarketplace as I recall. vmail : not sure why you are so strong in your "I bet the mods will allow this repetitive advertisement of service to stay". I note that you didn't in fact report the post (as far as I can see), although someone else did. vmail (again): thank you for the commentary re. referral links. This will be taken up as there is a breach of forum rules. Again action might have been taken sooner if the post had been reported. All: The original post would have normally been moderated given that it was very clearly self promotional in a thread which had nothing to do with the poster. However, a response had already been made by another member before the board staff got to it. In the even it was felt that response and subsequent other posts had rather more impact than would have been achieved by a simple mod of the original, and indeed impact was increased by leaving the post as was. Now that some time has elapsed, it is probably appropriate to clean up the original post.
