[Admin note]The links to this wiki have been removed as the links allowed the easy identification of a borrower which is contary to the rules of this forum. Before adding/editing ANY content on the wiki we suggest that you read and make sure you fully understand the following www.wikia.com/Terms_of_Usewww.wikia.com/Privacy_Policywww.wikia.com/LicensingYou need to be aware that every edit of the wiki will be recorded with date and time against your IP address in the wiki database, and with appropriate court orders that info will allow your ISP to identify you even if they allocate you with a dynamic IP address. The Defamation Act 2013 will apply to any use of wiki. If you publish a link to a third party site (another forum or a newspaper for example and that page is defamative) you too are defaming the subject unless you personally can prove the source material was not defamative. Awards of punatative damages for defamation are not that unusual. We recommend that forum members do not participate in a wiki that could be defamative. The forum account of the OP has been deleted as it was created as a duplicate account by an existing forum member to deliberately flout the forum rules.

[Admin note]
We have been made aware of concerns by some forum members in relation to their participation in a group PM thread related to this topic. This note is to help inform forum members.
Under the action drop down at the top of the PM thread there is an option to "leave conversation". That does what it says, but doesn't erase you as a previous participant, so before leaving it might be appropriate to post a comment that makes clear that you don't agree with whatever it is that concerns you.
Unlike the main forum there is no way of deleting or editing a post you have made on a PM thread, and any attempt to delete a PM thread merely deletes it from your own inbox not from the proboards database.
The forum staff can not see PM's but proboards staff can. It would not be surprising if printouts of PM's were circulated to journalists or regulators (for example) by a participant in the PM.
We recommend that forum members protect themselves by not participating in PM threads which could breach the Defamation Act 2013.

If I create a post with a link that would name & shame, but make it so that it requires a password (and instructed members to PM me for said password), would that be acceptable? The immediate gut reaction of all the mods that have have seen this post, is no it wouldn't be acceptable. (There is no one definitive reason, more an accumulation of concerns regarding this approach).

Following receipt of this PM from Orchard Lending Club Hello, It would be preferable to have a separate clean board for Orchard Lending Club as Evoutis is no more, and this is a separate entity. I understand the lack of interest in Evolutis, but we plan to be a lot more active now and I think should be able to generate more of an interest. Thank you, OLC. the Evolutis board has been renamed Orchard Lending Club and as Evolutis is "no more" this thread has been moved to the defunct platforms board.

This thread has been removed from public view whilst the moderation team review the increasing number of complaints about it.
The first rule of the forum is "polite and constructive contributions" which has been the exception not the norm for this thread.
In addition a discussion of the hypothetical case for a platform operating un-ethically should not be taking place on the board of a specific platform, especially one operating under interim authorisation from the FCA, and which has an application for full authorisation pending.
The posts in this thread that related to Land Registry due diligence checks have been extracted into a new thread.
Liz posted this link to the FCA website fca.org.uk/news/peer-to-peer-applications-for-full-authorisation which is valuable background. There is a dedicated thread to discuss Trust Buddy here. (But Trust Buddy is not a UK company, and was not operating in the UK so is of only limited relevance)

Bless you for that - I didn't know strawberry hullers existed. Wonderful! Three or so years ago I bought six strawberry plants for a fiver. I now have over a hundred, and a couple of cubic feet of last year's crop in the freezer. Again, thank you.

How can mentioning that there is an <removed> of p2p lending be equated to "identifying a borrower"?? The <removed> does not mention the borrower name, not the lending platform, although I imagine <removed> will. Because, as someone else already said, posting the details in *this* thread links it to *this* borrower. If the post had been made elsewhere then there would have been no link. If the link has multiple scrap dealers then I guess you could argue it doesn't say which one is this borrower, but I think the likelihood is there will only be the one, and then the link is made.

C'mon guys, carry on this way and this thread will be locked and some people will be banned. No more warnings. Admin are FC paying you a retainer or something, because your behaviour on here appears to me to bit just a bit too over bearing. So now I guess you will ban me for criticising you!!!!!!!!!!! No, criticism is fine! Posting details that may end up in legal action being taken against the moderators who run this forum "for fun" is not.

I appreciate it's very frustrating, but please don't identify borrowers.
