I sold a lens at the weekend clearly marked "damaged" buyer has received it and say's "it's damaged" He wants either a full refund and keep the lens or I upgrade the lens to a perfect one, that I would sell at over twice the price I said "I can refund or swap it for a broadly comparable lens" the answer " I'm the customer you are a business, the business should always give the customer what they want" now this feels like a scripted response, ie it's a ploy Buy a damaged item cheap then insist the seller swaps it for a perfect one Report the grifter: www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/reporting-issue-buyer?id=4084

Steve Harley RIP, you made me and many others smile 12 albums, 36 singles. It was a bit of an insult to Steve Harley's career that none of the thousands of the TV and radio stations who ran obituaries, knew of any songs by him except Make Me Smile. Who could forget 'Sebastian'?

I was listening to Sturgeon giving evidence yesterday.
At one point they were discussing an email that the deputy first minister sent to her regarding covid restrictions. At a time when England was banning travel to Spain Scotland was allowing it because they were concerned that a ban might upset the Spanish and result in them blocking an independent Scotland applying for EU membership.
Every SNP plan and action since the failed referendum has been a covert strategy to make it look like a mistake and somehow overturn it. Everything would be better with independence you stupid voters. Nicola would still have a job and a camper van for a start. A government who refused to accept the result of a democratic referendum, it was a lucky escape from a bunch of duplicitous clowns.
*two democratic referendums.

I know a large guy who was forced to buy two tickets on his last flight. He wasn't that bothered till he discovered they were in different rows. (Here all week, tip your waitress etc.) How do you tip them? Putting local currency directly in their pockets? Wut?

I keep a notional manual portfolio. It comprises 'living' platforms where I only have deeply distressed/defaulted loans left, and dead platforms. Recoveries for the past 3 calendar years (up to today) are as follows: 2020 14.65% 2021 7.36% 2022 1.41% The direction of travel reflects the advent of punters going legal and the ensuing abject loss of nerve displayed by platforms and Administrators. Whilst there are hopes for some 2023 recoveries, until they occur they're just talk. Will revisit in a year. 2023 23.78% Not a bad recovery rate for a year huh? Oh no wait, the majority of it was write-offs from AC. Let's see what 2024 brings.

Lol. Instant rebuttal unit. Would a UN migration agency transfer students to Rwanda if they considered it unsafe? Y/N: N Is there a (reasonable) inference that they don't consider it unsafe? Y/N: Y I happen to consider it an idiot policy but there's so much baloney gets posted here. They aren't "transferring to Rwanda", in that those kids are not living in general Rwandan society, as UK asylum seekers would be. They're living on a closed boarding school campus. It's a very, very different scenario. As far as the UK's scheme goes... www.unhcr.org/uk/media/unhcr-analysis-legality-and-appropriateness-transfer-asylum-seekers-under-uk-rwandaIt's not remotely different - they are in the country of Rwanda and were sent by a UN agency. As for the irrelevant link you posted, I have made no assertion as to the legality, wisdom, morality, or otherwise, of the scheme. Good talk.

Donno if this has been mentioned before but I use The Oil Club for heating oil. There may be one in your area. It's based on bulk purchasing power, is free to join and use, and is consistently lower than buying direct from a supplier. www.oil-club.co.uk/search/

...snip/ It was a pleasure to live there for 10 years. I enjoyed my time there even if I struggled to understand Dutch. Luckily, most people spoke English or German.
A name popped into my head and I had to google him to confirm: Ferry Mingelen.
He presented the news on the most popular channel and even I could (usually) understand him!

benaj I think the whole 'failure to swap SIM' is an important element in this case. Anyone who uses mobile data from a work device when travelling, and absolutely critically when travelling abroad, has a fundamental responsibility to their employer to: A) ensure they are using the correct provider under the correct contract as currently told to by the employer. B) understand what limits there may or may not be under that contract. If they ensure they do A) then they will be using the appropriate business contract. If instead they use something else entirely, say a legacy SIM, not only are they using the contract which doesn't give the best rates, but quite probably they are going to be running on some horrendous pay-as-go roaming loaded basis, or similar. Because more than likely whatever negotiated legacy contract that was originally on will have lapsed and not be valid. This is basic mobile data use 101, whether personal or work. "wasn't me I don't watch Celtic" www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/politics/michael-matheson-scores-goal-evidence-31529909Whoops Seems that Scotland is quite the dream destination to be a low-rent grifter if working in government or state institutions. It's ok though, she's sorry. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-67518685
