Who’s next? My money would be on Assetzcapital despite their occasional messages.

Yes it is funny. Losses on equities can dwarf losses on most p2p platforms. Of course you don’t get the same upside but you certainly don’t get the same downside.

Lets be VERY clear. p2p, with all its risks at 4% beats BS rates of 0.5- 0.7 with a bloody great 10 ton sledgehammer. 8 times the return at probably twice the risk. Of course you could punt more on NASDAQ, as thats 12% cheaper than it was a few weeks ago. Or bond funds - my how theyve performed recently.

Love UB but I can only invest about £400 to £500 a month, it’s a shame they haven’t got more loans.

Apples and oranges. The equities could’ve sunk 50%. Its happened twice in 20 years. Simply different assets

I've always put it under "untaxed interest".

I seem to recall ACE is invested in a great many platforms. I too would be interested in his top four.
This was his 2020 update, so possibly only two weeks to wait

Very happy to re-invest when the gates are open. Always received interest. Never lost money. Quite an achievement during a pandemic.
Was AC perfect? Far from it. Was it a disaster? Far from it.

Maybe I was wrong. CEO of assetzcapital said to p2p news on hearing this:
“ And we remain open to any Zopa investors who wish to move over to ourselves.”
Hmmm. Watch this space.

My money is on Assetzcapital being the next one.
i’m now In loanpad, prop-lend and unbolted but would like less exposure to property and a larger company.
Been with Zopa since 2005 when it was quite funky, and I still have some early adopter share options somewhere in case they IPO!

ZOPA neither want nor need our money now they are a bank. Until they relaunch p2p it is indeed time to move on. Sad as ive been with them since 2005 and as a founder member even have share options when the IPO!

Having become increasingly nervous about inflation with maybe low returns from equities and possibly overdue for a large correction, I have been looking for something less likely to lose value. When the market went down at the end of the century it took until 2003 before it started up again. Fortunately my small private pension fund was invested in property so I did not suffer a low value when I took the pension in 2003. The pension income is linked to the All Share Index and has turned out well so far.
I have now liquidated some ETF investments in ISAs and Bought into 2 REITs,
It seems to me that these should both be fairly inflation proof and are invested in property which will benefit from everyone having to eat and growing on line business. They have both gone down recently, presumably because of the driver shortage, but seem to be going up again now.
I used the ISAs because the dividends have a 20% tax reduction which is refundable in an ISA.
What do you think?
Shares in terms of FTSE100 are about where they were 22 years ago. Yes youve got the dividends and yes you may be a Fundsmith investor - but then again no. Corporate nad government bonds have exceeded equity returns over that period but like equity look overvalued. P2P looks a relatively safe option in a relatively unsafe world. Especially the ikes of loanpad and the less risky unbolted offerings...

Erm, 50% to 100% better rates are some compensation. And if you go to loanpad, even better. But since it’s impossible to invest in Zopa at present it’s academic.

I put in £2,400 two weeks ago applied to all 3 categories with a max of £800 and have lent the princely sum of £176! Is there any way of improving speed of disbursement? Forgive my ignorance, this is the first time I’ve used UB, but at my speed it’s not viable.
