OK - so in that case 75 people have registered so far, some have invested and some not, and there are still 25 places left?

huddlecapital - I think there is some confusion on the offer: is it the first 100 people who invest, or is it the first 100 people who sign up and then invest later within 30 days? If there are still 25 places left it sounds like the former?

Having lent to this same company before and had all capital and interest repaid on the nail (on ReBS), I decided 20% was worth risking being hung for a sheep as a lamb 😉 Also I figure a new platform is likely to want to impress with its first loan. I thought something similar. A little bit surprised how slowly it is funding, as most of it was probably in £5k chunks. Last Thursday the email they sent out to the waiting list said there were still some places on the Huddle 100, and the minimum investment was now £50 (not £1,000 as mentioned above).

Huddle Capital launched earlier today. I made an investment and wrote up a bit of an intro: First look at Huddle Capital. It is open to private lenders now too. By my count I was the 4th to invest, so still plenty of places left for the 20% cashback bonus.

You'd pay tax in the country where you are tax resident.

I agree. I also note that the platform has now been discontinued. I wonder why? What makes you say that? Still seems to be working for me. Would also be interested to hear what you base that statement on cooldad - everything appears to be up and running to me.

Many of the others have had their expected share values updated recently - it does appear to be just taking the end of term value.

I've tried nutmeg and moneyfarm. They both seem quite similar but moneyfarm is cheaper for investment amounts under 20k or so (my basic fee calculator: p2pblog.co.uk/compare-robo-advisors-uk/). It's quite hard to compare performance against something like a vanguard lifestrategy or msci world tracker as it is not easy to find much performance data. In my opinion one of the biggest differentiators in performance recently is their opinion on currency hedging.

It does say the following in the notes: I had to use Google to find the notes (they're on the comparison table page). I don't approve. Comparisons should be given in comparable measurements (e.g. A.E.R.). As it stands the p2pblog review says that rates of up to 9.01% are offered, so a person presumably with more knowledge that the typical retail investor was misled. I did say '7.46% (5 year), 9.01% (5 year compounded)' on the returns and do a further example of the compounding calculation down the review: 'Either a 3 year monthly income bond that pays out the interest each month, or a compounding bond that automatically reinvests it. The actual monthly return is the same in both options. To get from 6.12% to 20.1% you can do the calculation (1+6.12%/12)^36 [i.e. the monthly interest applied for 3 x 12 months].' But I will add in an additional note at the top to make it clearer

I've tried them and wrote a review here: p2pblog.co.uk/basset-gold-review/ As I understand it, it appears to be that they invest in a similar set of investments to BM, but are different in: -they fix a set rate of return and make their profit on what they achieve above this (rather than take a % fee of invested funds) -it is a bond in B&G rather than being directly assigned the underlying loan contracts -no online login/dashboard, more is done over phone/email/payments to bank account -IFISA (200 available then waiting list)

There are plenty of low cost options like transferwise or currency fair if you need to do cross currency. Within the same country bank transfers or those that allow payment by card is not so bad.
I ran a simple online service using paypal as the payment mechanism and aside from the high costs it had loads of problems: lots of complaints from users of transactions failing and delayed transactions, poor response from paypal when I tried to solve it.
