This is a really old thread, but the title is great.
The latest loan #1612 has just drawn today at around 5pm. I was allocated an extra 2.9pence as the seller was using a discount of 0.5% this was on a chunk of £5.82 @17.04pm
Clearly this has to be a human underwriter and not the AA?

I liked this rather pointed tweet.
I think I give Putin about a month maybe six weeks
I wonder if that will encourage Iran or perhaps events in Iran will push Russia to change

I can't help but wonder if Putin or his team are thinking about a " battle of the bulge" sort of thing (no, not Putin's bulging cheeks) battle of the bulge being the Allies name for a Nazi offence to push the Allies back towards France and hoping they might be able to negotiate on more favourable terms

It's clever how they make Putin seem moderate by having a well known politician who's even more radical

Over the weekend the token liberal (Boris Nadezhdin - who's been missing for months) on Russian state tv is meant to have said the following,

I've not read your linked article, but it's been said that it might be that China could simply support one or more regions break away but it's unlikely they'd just invade (famous last words ...)
Is there oil in Sakhalin next door

Somewhat sparse news on the oil price cap perhaps because of new PM leading in the news
Thought to be coming in 5th Dec (price cap not the PM)
No idea what the price level will be
I've heard it said that in the cold of Siberia if wells are shut down the oil coagulates (freezes) and the well has to be re-drilled. Supposedly they can't stop pumping it if they do - it's close down the well

I found this graphic interesting
The pink bars show how long each country's gas would last if their storage was full to 100% The blue bars show how long each country's gas will last with storage at it's levels as of 9th July
So this assumes no more gas would be received. IMPORTANTLY - this is how things stood as of July 9th - so blue bars are somewhat out of date, but the pink bars are useful
Overall I see Joe Bloggs' point as Russia can't afford to switch off gas completely (forever?) as they lose ~ $50Billion a year, but they want to cause as much pain as poss while they can

I've just moved one post (an update to here) and redacted the name of the TV show along with some "hints" as to the property's location.
I know this is a really old one and may no longer be an FC loan - but please try to not post details that id the people or their "assets"
Yet again I've moved several posts to DD
Please don't post links to media articles about this defaulted FC loan
Thanks

Useful article going into the background of the invasion around Chornobyl and touching on the link between the SBU (Ukr intel) and the FSB. Article dates from 28 July and starts with several slides which you can skip down to the type
In Edit Mode. I find the story about A.N. the Ukrainian ex-SBU being stopped with very large sums of cash and some emeralds, interesting, So he might have been running away with his pay off, or he might be FSB advance guard trying to buy off people in the next country that's they're planning to invade. As this is what the article is suggesting happened in Ukraine. Speculation of course.
And then, Now Kirieiev was one of the Ukrainian(!) negotiators in the early days just after Russia invaded, he gets shot by his own side for being a spy. BUT So possible cock up or a Russian agent in the Ukrainian SBU silenced him
The article makes no mention of why the Antonivskyi bridge was blown before Russian tanks and troop crossed it at the start of the war.
