Ahhh thanks @star dust, it looks as though the different messages depend on whether you auto buy on business loans or not (I do not, but did manually buy on this one).

It's unwanted lots that are up for sale according to platform message. Automatic allocation has not operated afaics. Where do I find platform messages? The email I received describes it as a new loan, potentially dangerous as proved above.

86k of 252k still available on a loan that went up a few seconds ago.I wonder was this the remainder of yesterday's big loan that didn't fill? Because I now have double my original investment..... Yes, it's the same one.

It's not fully funded yet. And it should have gone out 2 days ago. You're right, it does make you wonder..

Thanks for your reply stub8535, agree with all your comments and had already considered the repayment spike. Not sure that you have convinced me that this personal guarantee has any more value than any other though, as it is a separate issue to the holding of the collateral, which is where the security lies irrespective.
I have increased my investment in this loan a little as a result of the responses here, thank you all, but still remain relatively cautious about overdoing it in a single loan. Good luck to all investors and borrowers alike :-).

Thanks all for your comments. stub8535, why does this personal guarantee mean something, what's different about it? It's a genuine question, as my understanding is that they have very little value if push comes to shove.

I'm limiting myself to around 2% of my total Unb holding for individual loans of this type. What do you think? Am I being too cautious?

Quite surprised there's so much free cash on the platform - 5k left I'm not, given the rate my cash balance has been going up lately. There could be many with a large cash balance waiting for somewhere to put it. This loan is very welcome at the moment.

Likewise, my cash balance has now started to increase at an alarming rate, forcing me to make withdrawals from my account when I'd much rather be investing. The biggest surprise for me is the apparent lack of concern from other investors, surely this is affecting many others as well? I'm sure many are seeing their balances increase, me included! I'm not concerned though because it's not because of an issue with the platform but rather an there has been an increase in the number of new lenders with cash to invest. I see similarities with GS where an influx of new investors led to a continuing reduction in rates, it's a sign of success for the platform. It depends on what's more important for Unbolted, new investor cash or loyalty to existing lenders, but they could rollover investment amounts when existing loans renew as opposed to the current method of re-allocation as per a new loan. I like Unbolted, I just wish others didn't! Edit: crossed with jonno - looking forward to you leaving Unbolted already Yes I agree with you there, I like Unbolted too! I like the rollover idea and do feel that Unbolted could consider some measures to protect existing investors rather than allow them to be forced out by new cash. I little bit of loyalty can work both ways in the long run.

The pattern is becoming clear. Since the random allocation was introduced my available funds are increasing by the day as loans pay back and I just made my second withdrawal. The occasional £10 and £25 purchases that I used to make combined with auto allocations always guaranteed that my funds required topping up each week. Now the opposite is true and I am diverting these funds elsewhere. Shame, l really liked this platform before the change. Likewise, my cash balance has now started to increase at an alarming rate, forcing me to make withdrawals from my account when I'd much rather be investing. The biggest surprise for me is the apparent lack of concern from other investors, surely this is affecting many others as well?

Yesterday I had five repayments totalling £123.83 and one investment of £5. At this rate I'll be making another withdrawal very soon. It's a shame ashwinp doesn't see fit to comment here and provide some guidance for investors on what we can expect from Unbolted going forward.

It has finally come to pass. I just made my first withdrawal. Before the random allocation was introduced, I was adding to my investment every week since I could invest more than the repayments I received. Now the inverse is true and my cash holding is growing day by day. Unless there is a big influx of new loans OR my luck changes with random allocation l can only see this trend continuing and my investment here gradually reducing. My experience also. I'm holding off in the hope of an upturn but fear my first ever withdrawal is imminent. What happened to the loans?
