I suspect that the borrowers web site might have attempted to drop some malware on my computer too - Something triggered my antivirus around then. Be cautious!

I've often been guilty of doing the 0.3% too... It's typically the smallest premium on top of a £20 loan part that will let you sell it at some (albeit tiny) profit. Psychological boost that at least it's not being sold at a loss!

Thanks for the heads up - Much appreciated. (Looks like I managed to avoid this one.)

Perhaps blender's surreptitiously slipped a few grand into it...

As I log off until tomorrow (probably but I might sneak a look in later for the newer questions) I can't help noticing that this loan is still 69% 70% funded. with almost over (that changed in seconds!) 15% of that at MBR! I'll put a request in to that 15% of investors - I need funding for my heating bill next winter. Please send me all manner of flammable material you can spare. Please remember that you get better calorific value per pound by burning £10 notes so these would be ideal. I promise to send you your notes back as soon as we have used them. Ooh, could this be my chance to grab my first token loan part at 15%, (and promptly sell it immediately)?
Presumably the stuff at MBR is all from the autobidder?

If I was feeling especially cynical, I might imagine that someone from FC had read davee39's original post...

Many thanks for the tip! Interestingly, unless I'm missing something obvious, loan 6034 seems to have vanished from the marketplace at the time of writing.... Curiouser and curiouser...

5034 (He's not been well you know) : Interesting to see that the loan comment transcript appears to have been changed by FC. A few days ago they published a comment that the borrower had been ill; now it merely refers to "...unforeseen personal circumstances..." Also repeats that they "spoke to the solicitor today", which I wonder might still be a legacy from the earlier (withdrawn) post. Not comfortable about this one.

Loan 2398

This loan was downgraded all the way back in February after FC heard about a CCJ being registered, with a promise to "...update lenders as soon as we have further information..." 9 weeks or so seem like a long time for an update - Or am I starting to get unduly impatient with FC?

Loan 4907

Indeed. If the business profile had more accurately read "...Last ditch attempt to keep company afloat..." then I don't suppose I would have bid either! I wonder if FC have increased the staff resource vetting new applications in line with increasing loan volume? If they seriously want to attract corporate investors on whole loans, things will need to look more competent.

Ah, yes, in credit to FC at least they have made a comment about 5426 now. Perhaps I'm just getting paranoid because I seem to be losing about twice as much as predicted to defaults, despite careful selection and extreme diversification!

5426. Exposed I remember thinking it was risky even for a C-, but was seduced by the rate!

Ah, this one's not in Rio after all. They found him. Another one who has filed for bankruptcy before making any payments whatsoever. This is starting to look careless.
Looks like Farmer and his wife that wanted £100k for a wind turbine are late with first payment too. Not a peep from FC on that one though. How long does it take before FC make a loan comment when someone's late?

I suspect the logic was never intentional. When the code was initially written and the SM was small, it would be more difficult to notice any difference.
