BBC news story about 19 buses destroyed in fire on the site Saturday night I Googled this '19 buses destroyed in fire' and found lots of interesting photos but not much of a story, as no one seemed to have much idea about what was going on. Clearly not fake news or they'd have had lots to say.

Well, on the up side, this story is unlikely to have any real world impact on imagined benefits derived from sponsoring Cowes Week.

My biggest concern with having a large holding in this loan is the £10m flood of liquidity when (if?) it repays. It'll be a struggle to reinvest with everyone fighting for positions. Every silver lining has a cloud eh?

I'm sure Lendy have a good idea of what's going on. They've already stopped us selling the parts, so I can't imagine there's much to lose by being transparent. Very poor effort at communication, and I don't see why I should continue to invest my money here. I disagree, there is a significant amount of effort going into managing communication. That's what is making sure lenders don't know much about anything. This may be a bit off topic or misplaced thread-wise but it relates very much to the issues of confidence and communication remarked upon here.. Someone sent me this YouTube link to a HouseCrowd webinar. The impression they created relative to the dissatisfaction evident here certainly impressed me. Be nice if Lendy could watch it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIyCgfe1L0w&feature=youtu.be&inf_contact_key=23ef0f13b1884e884f56653a483b914ebd62f4becebccb9180a80fb0c53ae602If the link doesn't work it is called "The House Crowd Developments - Buckton View".

The problem with Lendy is that they employ so much waffle and use so many weasel words that even if the news is unquestionably good and the loan is almost a dead certainty to be repaid, and maybe even with a bonus, you always have that lingering doubt - what haven't they told you? I agree. I have dealt with very many companies in my working life and Lendy's general approach is consistent with the ones I have known that were circling the drain. Their obfuscation and ducking and diving is clearly counter productive in terms of lender support but may well be their only remaining option.

I already updated the details and made a test deposit all worked fine. Yup me too, but it was just a quid and it'll be coming home when I withdraw my interest at the end of the month.

/mod hat off Well it was an awfully big tin can to kick further down the road ... P2P seems to be turning into nested parcel-passing .. "sell your parts to someone else" inside "move the loan to another platform" It's not bridging, it's a cantilevered road to auction. Yeah, there are times when providing banking facilities to Nigerian diplomats who wish to export their wealth seems less risky. The warning that capital may be at risk is probably a little vague and could be more mind focusing if it added "...as conmen may lend your money to crooks." Obviously I have no one specific in mind here.

Hopefully, when they say 'Exit strategy' they are still talking about the means of access to the site and not yet another loan that looks like going 't1t5 up'. Does anyone know the story on site access as it seems a little odd that the place could already exist without it?

Interesting. I looked on their site maybe yesterday and the loan was shown as 100% funded and the update still said that DD was almost complete with payment to be made on completion. Today the update info is the same but the loan itself is no longer to be seen in the list of loans.

Page 1 of this thread makes excellent reading now, unless you have money in the loan.

Not to mention penetration testing... Seems to be enough evidence to show penetration is working...

It will be interesting to see how this fares on HC. The loan seems to have been sought from them using the same tale that SS was sold ... "Just a short term thing but let's call it 12 months"
