Burning the midnight oil..for those that enter Friday..the Transaction statements are working again...albeit slowly...in Fact It's still not sorted..takes an age to download a statement file..e.g. November...and even if I change the month to October..it still downloads November. The Maintenance sign seems to have disappeared completely but whoever has supposed to have fixed it...clearly hasn't

Don't spend it all at once but then your debts might have been low to start with As it happens having left a generous 4p tip for the cleaners..that has now increased by a factor of not much to not much more..to wit..21p..so either FC have found something under the carpet or its a recovery..be handy if the site was actually working properly, so I could find out.

'We are writing to let you know that additional funds will be available in your Account within the next business day, following a sale of defaulted loans by Funding Circle on 27 November 2023' See what you mean...are you suggesting that those funds from the sale are NOT already on the system ? Yes - not sure though. Wowzer..gone from c£33 to £173.54 so presumably the difference is the debt sale now withdrawn but left 4p for the cleaners Shame I still can't get into transaction statements

Here's my 3 figure sum: £4.12 Don't we need to wait until the end of tomorrow to be sure this doesn't increase? 28/11/23 Well as far as I can deduce FC have sold certain loans (debts) to a third party and whatever payments (I've) received on the following loan numbers, is an end to the matter. 527...... This loan has been sold to a third party. You have received the final recovery payment for this loan and there will be no further payments or updates related to this loan. 3349...... Ditto 3512...... Ditto + minus any legal costs which have been deducted in accordance with the Investor Terms and Conditions. 4613...... Ditto 5180...... Ditto + minus any legal costs which have been deducted in accordance with the Investor Terms and Conditions. 6261...... Ditto + minus any legal costs which have been deducted in accordance with the Investor Terms and Conditions. 8517...... This loan has been sold to a third party. You have received the final recovery payment for this loan and there will be no further payments or updates related to this loan. The amount I've got probably wouldn't pay for a taxi into town but the capital involved would have provided me with a nice holiday somewhere

I'm pleased to say I received a 3 figure sum £1.25 ? Can you put the loan numbers that your payment referred to and /or the loan name (disguised if you have to ) ?..it may save some of us looking. Still can't log in at 16.30

Got the email, but zero money in the account and no new comments on ‘bad debt’ loans since 2021. Maybe everyone got the email even if they aren’t getting any new money Tried looking in this months transaction statements..if you have any ?

We're aware that our site is currently experiencing some technical issues. We apologise for the inconvenience - our engineers are working on fixing it as soon as possible. That's handy but no surprise.
Pity they weren't a little more specific, so that false hopes weren't then dashed for probably the majority it wont affect. Just the loans name/s would have pleased some and allowed others to get on with their lives.

Too right! It took 8 years from the loan being originally promulgated for rogerthat to have his complaint accepted, agreed, with compensation paid. Not many other small investors have that motivation and tenacity to hang on in there unless the sums involved are seriously significant. Who came up with such a shabby system? Unfortunately it's nothing like a significant amount..in fact as you rightly point out, the hassle, time involved, late nights, research etc etc I doubt the effort was even remotely cost effective. Both the particular loan threads were littered at the time with my whingeing comments...mores the pity that it's literally a drop in the ocean compared to my losses on FS..I should have pulled out and licked my wounds after FC..the whole sorry saga at FS should never have been allowed to happen and I hope that those behind the scenes are successful in their efforts for everyone. The financial world in this country needs a kick up the arse. Who came up with such a shabby system ? Probably the same people who have closed ranks and are being shielded by the very same system.

Not here to crow...but as my 2nd complaint is now settled and the cash is in my bank, to show that determination and perseverance, can prove worthwhile, I've received fair compensation for two property loans, that imho opinion, FC let investors down on. 1. Mel**en short term loans in London which began in August 2015 2. Pri**es Ho*el Liverpool which began in May 2016 I took both complaints to the FOS and they upheld my complaint on the Liverpool loan and instructed FC on the level of compensation. On the London loans, I think it would be fair to say that FC, faced with the weight of evidence, decided to make me an offer without involving the FOS any further. Some things do work in life, if a little slowly. I think it would also be remiss of me, not to mention that without the help, guidance and no little encouragement of another investor on here throughout the process, I may well have given up. He knows who he is. Thanks very much.

My understanding is that if you don't have any P2P income (or your P2P losses are greater than your P2P income) then you have suffered a capital loss which you can offset against other capital gains. And, as I understand it, if you have no capital gain in the relevant year you can roll over unused capital losses until you do have a capital gain. So, l think the following works: You invested £50k in FS That £50k is deemed entirely irrecoverable, so you record a capital loss of £50k, and record this as a loss to carry forward on your tax return. Some years later you make a £50k gain on the sale of a buy to let property (or whatever - some other investment). You can now use your capital loss to offset that gain. (I am not an accountant, you should not rely on this.) Isn't there a limit on how many years you have the 'ability' to set this off against any capital gains liability ? www.gov.uk/capital-gains-tax/losses#:~:text=You%20do%20not%20have%20to,you%20disposed%20of%20the%20asset.
