Well that's OK - so it's fiction then - you've reduced P2P to 'story time' (regrettably, you may have a point) - outstanding concept.
Should we open a new thread for fiction with regard to this loan (all loans maybe?). I can write about fictional characters and storylines for hours - it's my speciality - had to do something with my English Degree eh!?
How about 'P2P is only a subjective concept - discuss'.
hazellend - I'm trying to be humourous - but you really do need to put that bottle down and get to bed.
Hope the hangover isn't too bad tomorrow?
Goodnight.

What was the heading of this email, I have a feeling I may have received it and I may have deleted it along with a load of other emails. that I did not recognise as important. Collateral Companies - Six Month Administration Progress Report Also on their website here. Well that settles that, I did not receive that email from Collateral Companies, I was looking for a heading like that, some of the previous ones had obscure titles

Where are you seeing any of your loans described as defaulted? I suspect that you're panicking over nothing, and that defaulted simply means the repayment is overdue enough that unbolted are now selling the asset. Yes you are right, well I am not exactly panicking, just after I have been in 6 months the overdue's started then came the defaults, and I could not see if there was any difference.
I am seeing them in my in my Portfolio under overdue loans, altogether they add up to 9%

Is there a difference between "overdue" and "defaulted" and should I be worried as I have some of each

I had always understood that a business in receivership was run as a business by the receiver until it was sold or if no takers then closed. This one was apparently closed first by the court

"One final point - the reputation of P2P from the lenders' POV may well be under threat here, but don't forget that P2P reputation to borrowers is also important if you want this model to thrive. And if borrowers who have done nothing wrong find themselves unable to continue because their lender (platform) has disappeared, that makes a pretty nasty smell."
All the more reason to be giving up todate information, and if any of these loans have been settled. Any bits of information would ease the pain of not knowing but I suppose it would increase the costs and then there would be even less return, I am assuming there will be something left for us all at the end whenever that might be

As we now know one of the problems of Collateral's ring-fenced assets is that the records of them may not be available. In olden days when a business went bust it required a deliberate act on the part of someone to shred anything that might embarrass. The law requires records to be retained so their destruction would be illegal. Nowadays simply not paying a few bills appears to result in records being lost. I am no lawyer but it raises in my mind the question that legislation on business records retention may not have kept pace with new technology - perhaps someone knows better? I wondered whether this situation is without precedent. I note that part of the remit of the administrators is to investigate conduct of the directors. I feel that for their money that the people in charge are required to sort out the problems that are difficult otherwise we could do it all with office staff on a minimum wage. Hopefully the investigation will find them lacking , and possibly others. I did not realize that we were paying for the investigation of possible breach of laws, I thought that there were proper authorities to deal with suspected lawbreakers paid for by the state

I have a complete record of every transaction from day one to 16 Feb, but I cannot see I have any advantage over anyone.
Am I right in thinking that the interest was taken up front and held by Collateral and should be in an account, but the loan amount may not have been recovered and in some cases not due for repayment until a later date.

Mine has just arrived (5.57pm) and exactly matches the figures I had on 16th Feb (my last update) - which means the three loans that I hold/held which were due to renew/repay between 16th and 28th don't appear to have done so (normally interest was paid on renewal and not left until the end of the month if I remember correctly) - COLBB00588 & COLBB00589 (23/2/18) and COLBB00595 (24/2/18). COLBB00588 & COLBB00589 were due for renewal 3/3/2018
COLBB00595 was awaiting confirmation
