Did internal politics and a culture of confusion at the FCA fail P2P investors? Some staff in the FCA did want to refuse to authorise...See the internal FCA e-mail dated January 2017: " The overall conclusion was that we all agree that PtP often does not provide a good proposition to both borrowers and retail investors, but the bar for rejecting applications is too high. EMO [Enforcement and Market Oversight] Legal basically advises against rejecting any of them given that we cannot substantiate that the business models are not sustainable
It looks like legalese supersedes our internal risk views which as a risk manager I find hard to accept (I am surprised about the burden of proof apparently being on our side)." Remind me what job did Sigismund Walker do and what was he particularly alarmed about before he states he was unfairly dismissed from the fca ? Sigismund Walker was a risk officer at the FCA. He claims he was fired because the FCA did not want him to speak out about consumer protection breaches in relation to P2P platforms overcharging consumers. p2pfinancenews.co.uk/2022/03/23/fca-whistleblower-claims-unfair-dismissal-after-raising-p2p-concerns/

Is there any particular reason, apart from tidyness, why you want to close it? I usually leave accounts open even after I have stopped using them for various reasons eg: Circumstances might change so that I wanted to invest again and this saves the fuss of opening a new account I might need or want to go over historic transactions, maybe for a tax audit or some other reason and there appears to be no obvious downside to leaving a free account dormant. Having a reason, or not, for closing the account misses the point. If someone wishes to leave their account open, fair enough, that is their choice. I wish to close my account, that is my choice, and I am unable to do so. Not good enough.

Has anyone successfully closed an account with Qardus, and if so, how? I have tried repeatedly, and failed. Several weeks ago I withdrew the last of my funds on the platform, and emailed them requesting they close my account. No response. I emailed again. No response again. So I phoned, and was told someone would phone me back. No one did. Phoned again, and was told to email my request! I emailed again, no response again. Phoned again, was told my request would be dealt with and someone would phone me back. Nothing. And my account is still open. Any suggestions? Try a formal complaint? I complained a few days ago. Was told someone would call me! Waiting....

The very late tax statements for 2021/22 now appear to be available. Everyone else manages to produce these on 6th April but not Proplend.
Sadly, Proplend seem to have decided to limit the availability of "line by line" transaction information. As eeyore mentions, there is reference in the "statements" tab to date range or month; in fact month only is available. So, if you want a full year of transaction detail, you're into 12 separate downloads.
I really do wish that platforms would talk to -and LISTEN to - those affected by changes before just switching stuff on or worse, off, as in this case.
Not so. There are other platforms who have not yet published their 21/22 tax statements

Sorry to hear that.
I had over three years of trouble free returns from Archover from 2014 to 2017 and it was only in 2018 that things started to go south.
I made my last investment in early 2019, have been withdrawing since, and now only distressed loans remain, assuming no return on these four, I will just be in the black, disappointing.
Likewise. My earlier years with AO were profitable, but more recent times have been the opposite.

Another failure, with no visible route to recovery. My losses on this platform now exceed my profits, the only platform in my p2p portfolio to do so. What a miserable achievement.

Re Tuesday's upcoming L******k loan, CP's loan request states that L******k is near Fife. What the hell are they talking about?! Fife is a large Council area, in other words a county, and L******k is a small town in Fife, not "near Fife". Sloppy DD and/or sloppy write up.

Any new first charge loans coming up in the near future? After a few loans have repaid over the last couple of months I have cash sitting in my account doing nothing and with the new ISA year coming up I would be reluctant to add any more with a shortage of loans to invest in. Also what happened to the future partnership between LLI and another P2P lender that was reported to be happening some time ago? www.p2pfinancenews.co.uk/2022/03/31/landlordinvest-partners-with-octopus-real-estate-for-london-development/Octopus Group had a company, Octopus Choice, which was a p2p company, now closed to new investment. LLI's recent partnership with Octopus Real Estate may have originated from there. Maybe.

Basically I have a relative who cannot make his own decisions and his wife is being very difficult. Ie refused to allow relatives to visit in home or hospital, sends nasty e mails when we enquire about his health, selling off his assets etc. It's really upsetting my parents. The Poa was set up about 18m ago. I've called the office of public guardian for advice but they were absolutely useless. I just feel helpless and it annoys me she can be so wicked and unchallenged. Is this a situation of coercive control? The pattern of behaviour you describe between your relative and his wife suggests that it might be, and coercive control is a form of domestic abuse and a criminal offence, POA notwithstanding.

Well done collective lending for returning all our money, that doesn't happen very often with P2P Agreed. Sorry to see them go.

Hi all. If you have £1000 in your account and set the autolend to 20% what would happen? My guess would be nothing as the minimum of £1000 wouldn't be reached. Or would it invest £200 in 5 loans? Your guess is correct. £1000 is the minimum you can invest.
