Well that could have been a lot worse in my opinion. It is FCA related, not fraud and sounds like loan book is safe, not sure about cash but no doubt more information will come out. I agree. Out off all the speculation over the last couple of days (of which I was a willing participant) this seems to be the lesser of a lot of potential evils.

Can anyone remember if the Chesterfield loan had drawn down? I have quite a lot in this one. Did you receive your cashback amount? If I recall correctly, CB is paid on drawdown. Ergo, no CB = no drawdown. (Wonder how the borrower is feeling right now?) No CB. Ho hum.

No, it would only be cash in your account that would be lost. The money out on loan isn't cash, it's an loan that is secured by an asset. That money is "safe" as long as no fraud has been committed. Presumably funds that have been invested into loans that hadn't drawn down yet would also be lost - such as the latest Bolton 2% cashback tranches. Can anyone remember if the Chesterfield loan had drawn down? I have quite a lot in this one.

This is true but the whole point is that Collateral haven't said ANYTHING. So I think I'll continue hammering 'till they do. and what do you think that will achieve? It'll make me feel better.....

It is impossible for us to know what is going on and we should wait for the promised update and the arrival of any 3rd party assistance that may be deemed appropriate. It is vitally important that we rest our fingers upon our key pads and try and wait patiently. There is precious little else that any of us can do right now. Please let the matter rest, it would likely be in all our best interests if we do. With respectful best regards, J. (Collateral investor). I think you’ve got no chance of that happening.....I can understand the initial reaction and concern...but some posters do like to give their keyboard a good hammering .....and no matter what Collateral say that will continue. This is true but the whole point is that Collateral haven't said ANYTHING. So I think I'll continue hammering 'till they do.

No platform rep? well that will be a shame. Do you really think any "right minded" person would invest money in this platform after this? You sound really happy to be destroying a platforms reputation southport . Whatever the platform now put out people of your nature will try to take your money out, if you have any invested, which is to be expected. Highly strung, rate chasing inexperienced people should not be in p2p with any money they cannot afford to lose. Go ahead. Sell everything. I will await the detailed explanation and then make my considered decision about what to do next. I think Collateral have done a really good job of destroying their own reputation over the last couple of days, they don't need my help. And this highly strung, rate chasing inexperienced person will be removing any funds at the first opportunity. I do however think that opportunity may not arise very soon.

Can anyone recall the forum member who allegedly had a meeting with Collateral earlier this month? They later posted that they would increase their investment in Coll after hearing the exciting new plans for the future. I think it was stub8535

Fraud may be unlikely but if a possible fraud is taking place it needs to be reported now so that the propper authorities can ask the pertinent questions. Collateral are not speaking to us, we need someone to get answers. You have also been informed that the platform are preparing a statement that will be issued later today. As someone of experience noted the wording of that communication will be being carefully gone over to ensure no misunderstanding should occur in educated right minded people. Whatever is written it will not stop the baseless accusations made on the threads in the last 48 hours from continuing. I would predict that we will not see a platform rep from Collateral active again on an open forum here going forwards after such utter drivel has been posted. No platform rep? well that will be a shame. Do you really think any "right minded" person would invest money in this platform after this?

It is reporting a "POSSIBLE* fraud. Are you saying there is no possibility of a fraud taking place? No. I am saying that you are making allegations (implied) without proof on a public forum in writing when a warning was issued by moderators last night against this. Be careful. There have been no alegations made, implied or otherwise, however without any information from Collateral on the 40 plus hour outage fraud has to be one of the considerations. We would be foolish not to get the relevant authorities involved.

It does feel increasingly likely to me that whatever is going on at Collateral may be terminal, or at least fundamental. Making formal allegations of fraud, though, strikes me as astonishingly premature and unfounded. Businesses hit financial issues and/or fail all the time without necessarily involving anything fraudulent. Can any Collateral lender seriously claim they didn't realise they were playing with fire when they lent money through a small, relatively immature P2P platform, yet to gain full regulatory approval, and paying out 12/13/14/15% monthly interest plus cashbacks? It may take a very long time for most/all of the funds I lent through Collateral to be returned to me, but I take comfort from the fact that my (relative!) risk-aversion kept me in the 1st ranking loans paying "only" 12%. Fraud may be unlikely but if a possible fraud is taking place it needs to be reported now so that the propper authorities can ask the pertinent questions. Collateral are not speaking to us, we need someone to get answers.

online cyber fraud will do...... You were warned last night about making allegations. I do hope you can back your implied assertion that anyone at coll has committed fraud in court. It is reporting a "POSSIBLE* fraud. Are you saying there is no possibility of a fraud taking place?
