Reluctant to intrude upon private grief, but the forum in another place seems to be dead or dying. Will B*cky attempt rescussitation or has DNR been secretly written on its notes? We would lose the answers there to debates here, which would be a shame. Perhaps we should send an ecard or an image of some flowers?

Don't bother sending a message of condolence, it would only get edited.

I for one wont miss it and FC have now got their monthly e-propaganda sheet if they want to get a message out to their investors. So let it pass quietly in the night as I think some great thinker said.

The only thing I would miss are some of the historical promises / answers from FC staff (some of whom may now be 'Ex' I guess), which I might want to wave at them in the future - not that it ever does much good .. inconvenient questions (like 'Where's the promised API beta release') just get ignored to death. They've been slowly scr£wing up the forum there for several months now, ever since they 'upgraded' it (for reasons which were, as usual, never actually explained), which lead to all sort of problems, from not being able to load an avatar, to new postings getting put into Limbo until someone from FC sees fit to release them (yeah, Ok that works as an anti-spam measure, but so does whatever is in use here, and is much less intrusive).
I guess we should just ignore it .. maybe they'll wise up and join us here. Oh look ... Blender with Wings!!

After the old forum closed I joined the official forum. I asked a couple of perfectly reasonable questions which were both chopped without explanation (irrelevent now) so I quit. They clearly only want to see 'I love FC' comments! A few months later whilst searching for something else this forum popped up in the results. Google works in mysterious ways for which I'm occasionally grateful. Independance forever! (the forums, not Scotland). John

I also joined the official forum after the old forum closed, and replied to a few threads but none of my posts appeared on the forum. None were critical of FC, just factual answers to questions or general comments. I just gave up with it and soon afterwards this forum appeared.

They may have shown up there now - I suspect you were a victim of the 'put it in Limbo and wait for a moderator to release it' issue. However the whole thing is surely a mess, which is scary given that forum technology must be fairly mature by now, compared to P2P operating software technology. I mean even Microsoft can manage forums (or 'fora' if any pedants are present?).

Meanwhile, in another place, Nurse B has applied the defibrillator, but no pulse is yet detectable.

Today Nurse N applied the paddles of the defibrillator - still no pulse.
Perhaps a progress report on the API will revive the patient, otherwise enter Mr. Praline with a complaint.

Nurse B seems to be having as much trouble getting swift & meaningful answers out of the product/tech/whatever-you-call-them team as I do. Or perhaps she is seeking a more politic phrase meaning 'over there in the long grass'. 8>. Nurse N was just advising us that the previous rules have been rendered more flexible, since it was still proving possible to nail the jellyfish to the wall, which wasn't what was intended.

One of our forum members may be a jellyfish, so please play nicely. Perhaps the flexibility could include taking security on some loans under £150k. I think that Nurse B was just responding to your post here above about the API, in an attempt to get your GSV 'official' doppelganger to post a response on the moribund forum. Soon B and N (who could equally well be doctors rather than nurses) will be taking turns to be the administrator and the forum member.

I see Nurse N is threatening to change the ward around over in the other place tonight - I expect a few bedpans will get lost in the process. 8>. Nurse B still not managed to extract any responses. The patient is definitely moribund...
It's back, but looks identical .. Guess the migration failed of was called off?

I assumed that the migration was of users from that forum to this.

To be fair, FC have greatly improved the usability of their forum with the 'latest topics' on the front page, at least for those of us who just wish to quickly catch up with the latest content. Why it was not started off like that is a mystery, since the old board was usable in that way.
