I'm a total thicko and can neither see where the forum is nor work out how to get my name on the list. Can somebody spell it out in words of one syllable. At the top of the Assetz Capital Board page is a bit marked "Sub Boards". You need to be logged in to see it. It lists one board, "Private Board for Assetz Capital Members Only". Access Instructions are below the title. If you click on it without being registered for it you will get an error message.

Hi there, calling any moderators, administrators or similar - I've been waiting for access to the private board since Monday. Martin Heelam at Assetz has duly granted me this but can't seem to get anyone on the forum here to activate it for me.
Not sure what else to do? If somebody knows how to pull someone's eye/ear or any other loose dangling end of them enough to get them to peer into this would be much appreciated!

Edit: sorry, just realised that might come across as a bit terse of me. Just pointing out that they clearly already are peering into it, and don't really need anything pulling in order to make it happen.

Thanks Rambling. I think it's just a question of someone on the forum pressing a button. I'm new to this but will try catching mrclondon attention here now if this link works. Thanks - if you look back over the thread, you'll see there is an issue they are tryiing to resolve. Just at the moment, it isn't just a case of pressing a button, because something isn't working as it should for them and they are trying to get it resolved.

I'd set up forwarding to the other admins on my mail server for Martin Heelam's emails but hadn't got it quite right, so despite a successful first test the subsequent emails weren't being forward to the other admins. Thanks to mrclondon for catching up with the approvals. I'd been called away on business unexpectedly for a few days. The email forwarding is fixed now. Sometimes there's no conspiracy, just a c*ck up.  |

I too was added earlier this afternoon. It was indeed a question of finding someone to press the buttons, nothing more complicated than that, but seems a missing dot or similar in an automated email request was holding things up. Anyhow thanks very much to the moderators for fixing things quickly. As others have pointed out they are volunteers, so the quick response doubly appreciated.

I'm afraid I'm still unable to access the private forum.
That's somewhat my fault, though, as I've been away for quite a while and only sent my request for access this afternoon. That said, it was early enough that MH@AC should have had plenty of time to deal with it before the close of business. Should I have received a response from him saying he had verified my identity and asked the mods to give me access?
I do hope AC are attending to their email during the weekend and can deal with my request before the reply deadline at 0900 on Monday. For that matter, I do hope AC will be in a position to answer questions over the weekend, as otherwise I'd consider sending an email at 1657 on Friday asking for a response by 0900 on Monday to be unreasonable timing.
Having said that, though, I suppose my vote is somewhat irrelevant -- I never was too excited about this loan so my share of it is relatively small.
