Good luck following this one with 14 tranches I‘ve made a good few £ over the term of this loan and it is still delivering. What is still delivering? The loan parts for this development. I’ve bought and sold tens of thousands making profit and exiting before loan due so no risk of default or tax

The loan parts for this development. I’ve bought and sold tens of thousands making profit and exiting before loan due so no risk of default or tax Ok but it has delivered now I assume because of you haven't sold you'd be stuck with it I usually invest in the parts where I can buy all of the high discount parts I then resell at small but persistent profit. I never leave more than 1% in any loan and it will have had >20% expected return if paid on time. The loss of any capital is far outweighed by any of the others that are paid on time or shortly after which are the majority. It it does however require considerable capital to allow me to buy the highest discounted loans so I restrict it to those with parts that are atypical and have large gap between them and the next lower amount. This is requires constant monitoring of several different parameters of every loan . I have this set up to do within 15mins . Returns are equal to effort involved I enjoy doing it and making reasonable amounts of money is the bonus.

As I said above I have 1% left in this I don’t make most money from the interest I make it from sales so if I have anything left in any loan it will be bought with >20% expected return. It will be more than interest earned but interest/ profit would reduce any loss in any particular part had I just bought and held. i don’t worry about individual loan parts it is the overall return that matter. This is results in average >15% tax free return

Why would your income be tax free? Is there something in hmrc saying if you sell a loan the income you get is tax free? And that the buyer will pay tax for the income you got?

Apart from buyer being responsible for interest CGT would be payable on profit if funds were in main account however all funds are transferred to FISA so no income tax or CGT payable even when interest purchased, downside is losses cannot be offset however you save 19-51% on tax dependant on your nominal tax rate on all other gains.

For P2P investments you are allowed to offset losses made in one platform against interest over you already allowed £500-£1000 However this only applies to interest outwith FISA link
Simple answer is put all your funds into FISA
