I have a requirement coming up soon for some cash so logged a request yesterday to liquidate a part (I've only ever drawn down cash thus far) of my BM holdings - cash in my bank account this morning, which was good service.

As I mentioned in my first post on this topic, withdrawals from BM are usually very fast. Something perhaps you could clarify, stevefindlay, I've noticed recently that my "cash in bank" figure drifts down by a few pence every few hours - in spite of there being no withdrawals or investments. I made a request late on Thursday afternoon (and replied to the confirmation email an hour later) but no movement yet. Almost immediately after I placed the withdrawal request, I noticed that the 'cash in bank' amount was now a few pence below the figure when I placed the request. Does this mechanism, whatever is causing it, put a delay in the process? This morning, I see the figure has moved a few pence above that figure, so assuming this will kickstart things. At the moment, I'm letting my BM investment run down to fund my profligate(!) lifestyle before topping it up again from another pension lumpsum coming in the not too distant future; quite a convenient way of enhancing income.

Repayment came in just now, so that's good.
Still puzzled by the odd few pence reductions, however.
