Is that a reference to ...... E&Y signing off the business case/accounts for both? I'll take your word for it that E&Y signed-off on Lehman Brothers, but is there any evidence of "signing-off" for this MT borrower? All we know is that the business case was "tested", not the results. It only proves is that the borrower has the financial resources to pay the fees of a very large multinational accountancy firm.

I'm just not impressed by: - the attempt to spin this loan by implying something that may not be true (E&Y sign-off) - the apparent use of non-UK tax domicile - the ownership of this property for ten years without significant development
But the main reason I'm not taking up the offer is the exit strategy:
"The exit is a refinance by another lender on to longer term debt once the trading history has been established after 12 months."
The implication is that if the venture to rent the building as an antiques & artisan retail centre is not successful, the loan may default. The borrower may have resources to cover the loan interest payments, but I'm too risk-averse to speculate my capital on whether the borrower can or cannot make a success of this retail venture.

Goldman Sachs signed off the Greek economy hiding huge debts prior to Greece joining the Euro. This gross financial negligence led to a massive time bomb which eventually needed an EU bailout. The Greek economy may never fully recover from such recklessness & it could have ripped the EU apart. GS were paid millions in fees by the Greek government for a glossy VR! I wouldn't trust a banker as far as I could throw him!

Interesting toto , your arrival as a Newbie to the Indy coincided with the introduction of this CB offer by MT, every one of your postings has been made to this thread and some may suggest that in each one of these that you've been 'pumping up' the merits of investing in this loan. Are these observational deductions a pure coincidence or could they be interpreted another way? All the best. Toto can always ask Dorothy to click her heels and whisk him out of trouble. As for the rest of us - even ozboy isn't keen on marching up the yellow brick road on this one. I'm afraid I'm the cowardly lion. There's still room for a Wicked Witch of the North in our panto. Fancy an audition stokeloans ? And maybe yangmills can be the wizard.

Think you need geography lessons peerlessperil ,Stoke is in the midlands Was born in Brum, me. But now I live next door to your old MP and Stoke is definitely a long way North! Seeing as Cilla is no longer available, perhaps you'd consider the part if we amend the script to include a "Malevolent Magician of the Midlands"?
