No good to me. Turn my back and it's all gone. I've been logging in to SS reguarly for a week in anticipation of this one.....I blame you lot for alerting the world! I have an email in my box timed at 9.24. I'm sure it wasn't here half an hour ago!! Maybe it is sent out on GMT and it came in at 10:24. Mine turned up at 10.33, just after the SMS. Either my operator/email provider is slow or there's pecking order which Im low down on. Fortunately, for once I actually had my phone to hand so managed to grab a slice.

Missed the SMS the email and the boat! Perhaps worse, I was alerted by the thread here, logged in there was a small amount left, made £500 deposit, didn't credit my account, pressed the deposit button again went to the loan - all gone, but now £1000 credit in my account - argh..... Saving Stream need to ramp up the marketing and get more loans, the demand is ferocious.

I just checked and my email account was set on Universal GMT. I've changed it to London GMT, but it doesn't say whether BST is provided. In any case, it seems that my email in this loan came in at 10:24 BST....still missed it though because I was f**ting about in one of my greenhouses

I was in a similar position. I saw the email, went to the website and saw that there was some of the new loan still available, made an instant deposit, went back to invest -- and found there was -£127 (or thereabouts) available! I've asked savingstream whether they want me to follow through with my BACS/FP deposit commitment and then withdraw the money as soon as it arrives, or whether they'd prefer to cancel my deposit from their end. No reply so far, but they're probably busy unwinding excess bids. PS. How did you know about the £500 limit? It would have helped me if I had known that before I made my instant deposit. PPS. Not long after I wrote the above SS did reply to my query, offering to cancel my deposit. And that's been done now.

I didn't cause I couldn't see the amount in a hurry, so I guessed based on the last £25k one. I sent a similar email to SS and they have already unwound my deposits, the usually impressive responsive and speedy actions from them. I also asked about future loans and was told "the pipeline for boat loans is limited at the moment, we believe that this is due to the time of year"

PS. How did you know about the £500 limit? It would have helped me if I had known that before I made my instant deposit. It showed it on the INVEST page, but nowhere else that I could see - it would be useful if it were added to the email as well in the future.

Would be helpful if savingstream could either (a) include the maximum bid in the email/sms, (b) move the maximum bid info further up the web food chain, currently you only get to see it at the last minute when making a bid or (c) at a minimum confirm the percentage that all future maximum bids will be set at as a percentage of the loan value (I assume 2%). Also deposited £1k in the frantic rush to get in, did not want to chance going through to find out the maximum and miss out on one of these rare opportunities, and then retrospectively found that there was a £500 threshold.

Whilst I was mucking around posting here it seems this has been unwound too as p**l is down to the limit and someone's snapped up the excess. Maybe we all need Google glasses so we have the site constantly in eye shot, SS could give them away free to every new member. .

As the loan is now fully invested (and was showing a negative amount when I first went to invest) I have never actually seen the limit. I am sure the last two times it was clearer, or did SS post here? In any event I agree it could do with being more visible.

Also deposited £1k in the frantic rush to get in, did not want to chance going through to find out the maximum and miss out on one of these rare opportunities, and then retrospectively found that there was a £500 threshold. I agree the limit needs to be in a place where we know about it before we add money to our accounts. And based on the speed the loan was taken up, I think the limit needs to be more like 1% of the total amount borrowed -- except, probably, for loans of less than £10k, where a £100 limit seems appropriate. Of course, if SS can increase the number of loans brought forward, or if the secondary market develops to the point where there's a good supply of opportunities most of the time, then a scrum like today's might be less likely. star dust said that when they asked SS about future loans they were told "the pipeline for boat loans is limited at the moment, we believe that this is due to the time of year". When SS wrote back to me about my unnecessary Instant Deposit -- they have now unwound it for me -- they added "We hope to have new loans going live soon." I guess that means -- as indicated by the 'Pipeline' list -- we can expect mostly bridging loan opportunities for a while.
