This morning, I tried to whack a grand into FC like you do on early closer Monday. Transaction didn't go through, gave an error. Tried again, same error. Reloaded page, tried again, went through OK, great.
Then this evening, I suddenly notice that I have an extra 2K in my account! The 2 failed transactions have now gone through! Has anyone else experienced anything like this today? It hasn't particularly caused me any difficulties except a small amout of lost interest, but surely there are people who will have been pushed into the red and may incur charges?

Seeing as I always answer my own questions, I just got this, it really is a proper balls-up:-
Information regarding your debit card transfers
Dear Chris,
We are aware that over the weekend you attempted to transfer funds to your Funding Circle account via debit card. In doing so you may have seen an error message on the screen, and the funds will subsequently have not arrived in your Funding Circle account. This was due to a technical error on our part, for which we would like to apologise.
Please be assured that we have a complete record of all transactions made into and out of our systems, and that we have your funds on hold. We have now resolved the issue with the transfer page, and the next step is for our technical team to complete the allocation of your funds to your Funding Circle account.
Our technical team anticipate that the transfers into your account should be completed this evening. If you made more than one transfer attempt you may find that your account is credited with more than you had intended. If you are an autobid user we would advise that you turn this function off temporarily to avoid your funds being placed in bids.
We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience or concern that this delay has caused to you.
For any questions please either email us or call 0207 401 9111
Kind regards,
The Funding Circle Team

*help* I have had an approach about appearing on TV on Saturday to slag off FC about this. I don't really want to face some well-oiled corporate team of bullshitters. Is anyone else free on Saturday morning who is angrier than me about it?

Is anyone else free on Saturday morning who is angrier than me about it? Isn't that good news? A hatchet-job on FC? Get them to buck-up their ideas. What should the TV bods focus on? The recent thread about rotten debts discussed recently, anything else? It's not me but they must be watching this forum, there's a chance to get something fixed here.

Just be grateful that you didn't have Autobid turned on, otherwise that extra 2k could have been sprayed into non-refundable bids in stuff you didn't want Interested to know which TV programme is circling, Watchdog? Martin Lewis? Whatever problems are highlighted, I doubt TV pressure will get them fixed any time soon, there'll be a corporate response that will admit nothing, flannel round the other bits, and go on about "Looking to the future". That's how it usually works. So don't get your hopes up!

Transaction didn't go through, gave an error. Did the page indicate that the transfer had failed, or was it just a plain-old web server error? If the former, you may want to enquire of FC (and possibly notify your bank) about why they have debited the money when they indicated they had not. Ignoring that they're a pseudo-regulated financial firm, I'd consider this unacceptable for any merchant.

Yes the page really did say the transaction had failed when it hadn't. Twice. A work colleague also tried to put £212 in (!) and accidentally put £424 in.
And I am washing my hair this Saturday and will definitely not go on the telly. In fact I find very little to slag FC off about really.
Incidentally, although Samir assured me last night that all affected lenders had their money re-credited within a few hours, mine hasn't been re-credited. For me the first rule of FC is that you should always bid your money out if you have any rather than have it sitting there earning 0%, so when I saw I had money available, I bid it all out. And picked up 2 early closers with it.

I had the same experience at the weekend. Filled in the deposit form several times but only twice did it get to 'verified by visa' for the 2 x £1000 deposits and when i filled that in it said 'there was a problem with your transaction so i abandoned it.
When i checked my bank Sunday morning the balance was £2k down but there were no transactions showing. I assumed the bank had been aware of the transaction and had put a block on it to be safe. I tried with FC again and after some errors got a £1k in - but then on Monday morning all £3k was in.
If i thought FC gave a monkeys i'd complain

So we currently have: 1) No ability to reliably deposit money 2) No ability to purchase loan parts (the old 500 Internal Server error has reappeared) 3) No loan book - so we don't know the current status of the loans as a whole 4) No ability to download transactions once the number of lines exceeds about 25,000 5) A disfunctional forum on FC - which still doesn't seem to work properly, even after the recent 'upgrade' 6) No ability to know when / what / if FC is doing anything about this - except vague comments about 'we're working on it', or my favourite around the Loan Book comment in FAQ 'let's just change the date on the post by 2 weeks and hope nobody notices. Then everyone will think this is a new thing and not something that's not been available for about 6 weeks now'
Have I forgotten anything?
Let's hope that some of the 65 million just raised goes towards building a proper IT infrastructure to host what should be a great platform.

Let's hope that some of the 65 million just raised goes towards building a proper IT infrastructure to host what should be a great platform. I had forgotten quite a lot: 7) An API which has never appeared 8) A beta version of 'live bids', which doesn't work towards the end of an auction (as admitted by FC) 9) A disfunctional Auto-bid functionality - which seems to allow manipulation of where money goes, doesn't allow dynamic bidding 10) An ability to gather information based on 'hidden' variables - but only if you understand Java script and look at the underlying code on the website 11) An infrastructure which is biased towards IT technical capability through building Bid Bots, Sell Bots, Buy Bots and whatever other type of bot you can think about - but doesn't allow these to be disseminated due to restrictions on sales

A beta version of 'live bids', which doesn't work towards the end of an auction (as admitted by FC) Doesn't work any other time either. The alternative mode isn't brilliant either.

And, unless I'm mistaken, the FC website has forgotten how to add up again. Loan 6957 asked for £50,000 and has just finished with £63,180 of 'Live' bids!
