Think a Forum away-day to Liverpool/ Birkenhead might be warranted  .

Any chance of this getting translated onto a map?

I've combined the most recently published land value estimates for England with Region and Local Authority District (LAD) polygons available from the ONS to create a Google Earth (GE) visualisation.  Apart from creating something which is visually appealing (subjective, I know!) it should allow quicker access to the required data, highlight steps to adjacent Regions/LADs, and eventually provide links to the relevant planning authority websites.

Those with access to DD Central may be aware that I've recently created a GE example of the MT Putney loan which includes a Land Registry overlay, location of comparables, photos and links to MT, the main forum and DD Central.  It can't be shared on the main forum because it identifies the asset.  The intention is to map the Travel Guide and provide as much loan specific data and links as practicable.

There are 4 links to GE files containing Region and LADs with and without height of the polygons scaled linearly to the land value estimates:
Regions - Height Scaled

LADs - Height Scaled
LADs - Flat
You'll need to download and open in Google Earth or Google Earth Pro.  Some tips if you're not familiar with GE or downloading it for the first time:
- deselect "Tour Guide" from the View menu
- In the layers section (bottom-left), deselect all
- for non-Chrome users select "Tools->Options...->General->Show web results in external browser" to push the links to your default browser
The files with the height scaled to the land value estimates are best viewed obliquely, 

Regions:

• Post-permission residential land value estimates (height scaled 1m:£1,000)
  
• Industrial (1m:£100)
• Agricultural (1m:£10)

LADs:

• Post-permission residential land value estimates (height scaled 1m:£1,000)
  
• Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland LADs are included to access links to planning authority websites.

The polygons are shaded by cycling through 13 colours; there are some adjacent polygons in the same colour.  It may be preferable to shade the polygons according to their land value (a heat map) but this would require additional work and would have to feature a non-linear scale.

Clicking on a LAD will bring up a box with a link to the Planning Portal.  In time these links will be replaced with the correct planning authority website; at present only Wandsworth is correctly populated to mirror the MT Putney loan.

I've deliberately kept this post brief but have a play (if you want) and let me know what you think.  Any suggestions gratefully received (keep it clean!)

I have merged the two posts above from a separate thread as I think the Land Values map provides a very useful reference tool for helping with the DD on new land and property loans.

For those with DD Central accessibility this Google Earth map has been cross-referenced with the travel guide and now also contains current COL loans (locations, reference materials, and links) and two MT ones – the idea is to add as many loans as possible eventually - I’d urge everyone who can to take a look.
