I actually managed to get my money out on loan (200 loan parts) faster this month than at any time before. It took less than 2 days in fact.
Not sure there is a shortage of loans at present. Wow, that's amazing. I cannot replicate your speed of transactions and PM only. I started loading money for 200 loans on Tuesday 16-Jan, so far I got 32 loans matched and only 17 from PM.

Please remember that I have 2 accounts so lots of the loans were the same loan on both accounts. But I seem to very rarely get SM

To give a report on the creation of my 'new' balanced account, started Monday 8th Jan, and added to, through that week, to keep my Autobid hungry.
The total sum was fully lent within 8 days of the start, mostly to new loans but with a few from the SM. In total it bought 306 loans and was well diversified. The estimated new return is 7.2%, which should be compared with the 7.5% mean forecast, rather than the 7.2% advertised projected return for 65% of lenders (one standard deviation from the mean). Overall, I have to say that this portfolio creation was very impressive, and the 7.2% is better than I thought it would be.
There is one problem. Autobid kindly bought me an E loan part from the SM which was just approaching its second payment. That is now late, and so I start with late principal well exceeding the interest earned so far. We shall see. I will throw some more money at it, and all will be well.

The slow lending was probably limited to the holiday period. If lending a decent sum, it does seem best to feed it in daily chunks. I now have over 350 loans, and should get to over 400 this week. And it is now 7.3%! Not much to complain about, sorry.

The PM has got going for me, too. In the first 11 days of January, I had £1800 on the SM, none on the PM. Since then, I've had £2100 on the PM, £150 on the SM. The number of different businesses is growing towards 500. You might think, with the 0.5% buy rule, it would tend towards 200 or so but older loans are reducing as they make repayments and SM loans will be smaller so, unless you're shrinking your portfolio, average exposure will be much less than the 0.5%.

Forgive me for asking, but how can I get SM parts? I looked at my loans and they appear to be all new ones.
Also I transferred in on 1 March, £2,000. £1,000 was lent in the first 4 days so was pretty happy about that. Only 1 £20 loan since the 5th of March! If I put in another £2,000 does this mean I will get another £1,000 'fast-filled' and the rest queued?

Be careful what you wish for, people are still offloading SM parts that are less than totally desirable. There seems to be variables at play with getting money lent out, but the first 50% is usually quickest (obviously dependent on loan availability). Arguably if you added £2000 that would give a good chance of half of that filling quickly plus half of your existing outstanding balance. Drip feeding smaller amounts after that would probably be productive.
