Deducing the council area from a postcode (to locate the correct council's planning portal. Where multiple councils are listed, its the one that has responsibility for housing)
www.gov.uk/find-local-council
Tip: once you have found a relevant planning application, go to the attached documents, locate the application form, and note who the applicant was.
Checking council tax banding records from a postcode (especially useful for properties split into flats)
cti.voa.gov.uk/cti/inits.asp
or suffix the following link with postcode (with + instead of a space)
www.mycounciltax.org.uk/results?postcode=
Land Registry Search - England & Wales only (click link 'Detailed Enquiry' for more search options including by title number if known)
eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/wps/portal/Property_Search
Land Registry Property Alert Service - England & Wales only
propertyalert.landregistry.gov.uk/
(I believe you can monitor upto ten titles, but suggest priortising your own property before any p2p security)
Land Registry last sold prices, most re-publishers of the LR data (e.g. zoopla & rightmove) omit non-standard transactions (e.g corporate buyers)
Street Check however do include them, suffix following link with the postcode (no spaces)
www.streetcheck.co.uk/houseprices/
Companies House Search (register an account to follow unlimited number of companies for email alerts of new filings)
beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/
Hint: directors can have multiple records at CH (based on different addresses, different name spellings, omitted middle names etc). Note the date of birth of the director of interest, then search for him/her and investigate any close name matches with the same dob, that are flagged as having 1 or more appointments.

(be aware there can be a cliff edge in values between neighbouring councils)
Google / Bing Search Syntax of Companies House to locate charges (same syntax for both search engines, result sets can vary)
+{platform name - of the security trustee} charge {asset's town} site:companieshouse.gov.uk
deducing the best phrases to replace the { } can be a frustrating exercise. Here are some I use (note FS can have a space between the two words, or not)
+"fundingsecure" charge {town} site:companieshouse.gov.uk
+Moneything charge {town} site:companieshouse.gov.uk
+"Collateral Security Trustee" charge {town} site:companieshouse.gov.uk
+"saving stream" charge {town} site:companieshouse.gov.uk
