Hmmm. Looks to me like you could put up a sign saying "We have removed this post following a complaint from Scams-R-Us under the Defamation Act." Enough of those should do the job.
Would the complaint apply to reader's comments along the lines of "Yeah, Scams-R-Us are a bunch of scumbags" ?
(Apologies in advance to Scams-R-Us, if you are out there. I've no reason to believe you aren't totally honest.)
