Over $5000 Lent through KIVA to Worldwide Causes in Year 1

Looking back to the initial forum postings when the idea of a P2P Forum lending group on KIVA was first mooted, I eagerly started it with the exact name of the forum.
Understandably this was shut down as a direct affiliation couldn't just be thrown together in a moment.
Fast forward 9months and I hope and believe the group which was formed, is something the forum can be immensely proud of. In the first couple of weeks with three founding members I started thinking that was as far as it would go. At year end I'm staggered, as we stand at 29 members and I'm immensely proud of everyone who has seen value in signing up to/joining the cause from a forum which essentially helps us earn money from our existing wealth.
In excess of $5000 has been lent out across 183 loans in 49 countries right across the globe by members of this forum.
In a year where I doubted this would ever get off the ground, I'm now firmly of the belief that it is the start of a collaboration which going forward is making real differences to lives less fortunate than our own.
