Why do I keep getting this message whenever I try to invest uninvested funds occasionally is O.K. but it seems every single time and it usually takes 3 or 4 attempts to invest my spare funds (which I have more of as GBBA 1 and Green account aren't reinvesting spare cash in themselves any more!) I thought the recent updates were supposed to have improved things? stuartassetzcapitalchrisRegards Brian

I get this issue too, but have found that it's easier to open the statement page first and then try to open the Dashboard, I don't know why that seems to work for me (and it may not work for others). I think it's resourse heavy to gather all your Dashboard info and while doing it the page times out, is my guess as to why it happens.

Whenever a loan repayment is processed or there's a large sale on the aftermarket the existing process ends up locking thousands of lender accounts at once to ensure the transaction completes as a whole or not at all. As the site has grown in both size and complexity that's led to more and more data being processed at once taking a longer and longer period of time. Whilst those accounts are locked it ends up blocking web pages from displaying if they show account balances, which is a lot of pages in the dashboard. On top of that because we end up with lots of those longish running processes running in parallel they occasionally clash with a deadlock causing the database to cancel them, so the system then has to retry those transactions leading to more account locking and time.
The rewrite of those systems is designed to massively reduce the size of those transactions and eliminate as many of the locks and blocks as possible, which will bring greater parallelism (i.e. we can more easily throw hardware at scalability issues) alongside massively improved performance and background processes having far far less visible impact on front end website performance.
This update is currently scheduled to go live in February but is still somewhat fluid due to the complexity and amount of work required.

This has happened to me a few times when trying to transfer cash between accounts. The transaction doesn't appear to have concluded but, a note of caution, sometimes it has. I discovered this when having made several seemingly unproductive attempts at moving cash into the 30 day account, I logged in the following day to discover I'd paid in three times what I had intended. A little annoying as the money was locked in. This was a while ago; I think a warning message now appears suggesting your transaction may have completed.

Unable to invest in the GBBA2. It's 11.18pm at night, so not a busy time unless there's been a mad rush on midnight oil, in which case I need to be buying shares in the manufacturers. Not impressed.
I have however been able to invest in the PSA, so I suspect this is a ruse to stop people investing at a higher interest rate. . .I'm such a cynical teddy.

I've still got a bit of cash available, buying orders active using the MLIA on loans with availability and still there has been no movement.

We're pushing a fix through hopefully either later today or Monday to try and speed up the site. Working on backporting some of the improvements from the new code back to the existing code which should help alleviate much of the pressure on the system.

The first changes went live yesterday with some more this morning. Website performance should be greatly improved although I'll continue to monitor with some more changes planned next week.

Might just be me, but I’m now getting 4x entries for interest in my mlia log... incoming interest, interest moved from being swept, interest going to cash account and then 2-4 mins later interest swept into QAA. The net result is correct, interest is in the cash account which is what I’ve set, but I’m assuming the bouncing via QAA and especially coming out of QAA before it even goes in isn’t a good sign. I’m not really around tomorrow so can’t ring AC CS, but if anyone else has this issue, can you consider ringing them as this really doesn’t look good. Obviously it could just be me...

Yeah, same here. I suspect it is related to the longstanding issue where certain repayments arent being processed correctly according to set instructions ie not being withdrawn to the cash account but remaining in the MLIA. This may well be a work around until the actual fix can be applied which is currently ETA late Jan/early Feb.
