I presume p2plender is referring to the fact that we're given annualized rates, i.e. rates that assume reinvestment of all capital instantly at the same rate, which is generally not true. So a lot depends on what is understood by the "true" rate. One version is the rate that appears on the contract, which for a 6.3% five-year loan is 6.13% (this is a post-April 2014 loan). Someone on this board can no doubt confirm whether the rate on the contract is a non-compounded rate, as I believe it to be. (RS could be a bit more explicit about these things.)

I calculated my July RS return at 5.64%.....all in the 5yr market. My portfolio stats suggest a return of 5.9%.
My Zopa July return was 5.15%, also all in the 5yr market just for comparison.
