Hi, we can confirm there were errors in processing monthly interest repayments, we are not sure why this was, it is currently being investigated. The existing payments will be unwound and reissued correctly hopefully today if the issue can be resolved. We would like to confirm we have not 'done a runner', Cowes Week is a busy time for us as you can imagine. Once again apologies for the temporary glitch. Thanks for the update. This demanding investor but boaty dunce will give you a bit more latitude this week then – hope it goes well . Even boaty "non-dunces" find latitude rather crucial to their activities. Longitude also has its relevance!

Well the unwinding seems to have happened as my nice round £100 is now only £99.46. Looking down my statement my balance also went negative at the beginning of July, suggesting the same thing happened. Do you have a recurring issue with allocating the correct interest to accounts savingstream? And has the issue for this month been sorted so if I send additional funds to round up my balance its not going then change again. Bit concerning and slightly annoying as I now have an odd amount to invest. I like round numbers, gets very confusing on other sites where you end up with fractions of interest/capital that result in discrepencies between the payments and balance calculation

Anyway, that aside, I can't say I've ever had a negative balance, so something's definitely odd there. Occasionally when it gets to £0.00 it gets listed as £-0.00, which I've always put down to rounding fractions of a penny. But otherwise always as it should be.

And Lo, I acquired a negative balance sometime later this morning after having 'zeroed' my account on Lifeboat and PBL06 purchases. The response I got from SS which was very fast was "We did make some minor corrections to the monthly interest figures that were credited at the end of July as there was some errors in these. This potentially would have caused the deficit figure to occur". It seems to me that they made two adjustments to the payment run, one on Sunday and another mid-morning/ afternoon today. However, as I failed to take a copy of my statement after yesterday's corrections and before the debt appeared, I'm still struggling to reconcile things, but I note the interest amounts seem to have been credited on the 31 July now and not the 1 Aug as on the orgional run and wonder whether that had anything to do with it? I hope this is a first, not to be repeated, monthly interest credit glitch.

I still had money in my account after my morning investment outing, so I guess I just didn't spot the adjustments - now it's cleaned out on somebody's boaty sale, but after whatever got adjusted.
Yes, definitely hope it's a one-off.

Yes, but I top up the account with an odd amount so I can invest in round £100s. Saves having to worry about those fractions of pence. (Enough of those in share trading) 4/7 My balance shows -0.15 which it certainly wasnt at the time. Comparing the statement to my own records each of the interest payments in July are now 4p less than I have recorded being paid on the day. Time to fire off an email about this.

I've had the full house: PBL1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 covering loan parts acquired from March through to July, all dated 31st July. As far as I'm aware, they finished correcting things due to errors on this payment run yesterday, so you should definitely contact them robberbaron if you have loan parts for which you've received no interest. Edit: If it were just PBL 005 you are missing, it's not that you selected up-front interest on that one is it? You wouldn't be getting monthly payments if that were the case (sorry if I'm stating the obvious there, just a thought )

I had some boaty loans so prepayment is not the issue. I contacted them yesterday but got no response. I hope I won't have to contact the FInancial Ombudsman about this.

Interest is paid monthly and/or upfront, if applicable, on the property bridging loans.
So far, AFAIK, interest on boaty loans is paid at end of term/loan repayment, whichever comes first.
I hope that explains your missing bits, robberbaron.

At the risk of teaching my grandmother to suck eggs - you aren't expecting monthly interest from the boaty loans are you? Only the PBLs pay monthly, and the boaty loans pay all the interest at the end. Again, aplogies if you already knew that. Just that you only mentioned the boats.............. Edit: crossed posts with veronica! Edit2: meant to add that I'd be really surprised if the Ombudsman were necessary - SS are usually really good at sorting out errors when they occur.
