Thank you for this link. Very moving and a timely reminder of how ridiculously inconsequential most of the things we waste time and effort worrying about really are. I say timely in the sense that New Year is a time that lends itself to introspection and plans for perhaps becoming a better person alongside all the learn a language/stop wasting time watching mindless tv or planning how to make a million via Ripple intentions.

A very thought provoking videos @magenta14 , but I must confess that I find it difficult to understand why people NEED to be reminded about how fortunate we are and that we should spend more time helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
During my periods of watching mindless TV and planning how to make a million via Ripple I have raised a 6 figure sum for charities such as guide dogs for the blind, help for hero's and the Falkland veterans foundation. I would hope others would also perform benevolent acts without being "Pushed" by a video.

Think I need to qualify my comment linking 'wasting time' and 'investing in Ripple'. This applies purely to me and should not in any way be taken as a criticism of those who do spend time doing this. Having followed the thread on crypto-currencies, I'm actually far more interested in the concept of blockchain technology than I ever imagined I could be and have spent a fair amount of time trying to get my head around how I might dabble in Ripple, with money I'd be prepared to lose, possibly to recapture some of the fun of investing that has gone from FC. Alas, I'm a slow-learner in this respect and very put off by the prospect of having to buy Bitcoin first, store it in some sort of wallet.......and so on. So, for me, it is a waste of time.

Sorry Valerie, I hope that my comment was not misconstrued as having a go at you? I think my sense of humour sometimes comes across as a bit caustic. Not my intention to make you feel the need to qualify your comment.

I have learned loads from your posts as well. You have pushed me to go research things and I hope that continues and brings new opportunities. Please chill your style as not all comments are side swipes at you. S

I actually contacted Valerie and explained my comment above, but thank you for pointing out the error of my way!
However, I also do not consider standing up to people as having my buttons pushed. If I have problem with a comment that is made on here and I feel it is a complete feed of S***e, I will, have and will continue to say so.

Sorry Valerie, I hope that my comment was not misconstrued as having a go at you? I think my sense of humour sometimes comes across as a bit caustic. Not my intention to make you feel the need to qualify your comment. No apology necessary as I realised my post needed qualifying and your comment gave me the incentive to do so. I too have learnt a great deal from your posts - give that man one of those special medals - and would defend your right to respond in any way you consider appropriate, within boundaries that avoid a possible lifetime ban.
