Has anyone had problems with the purchase of loan units? I have had a buy request on two loans one for a week and the system is failing to purchase. Loan availability has come and gone and I'm not getting any proportion of them. I've had two live chats to no avail I've now sent an email. Mick.

This seems to be a recurring problem recently for both buying and selling. chris seems to know their I.T inside out and is often able to kickstart the system. PS - Excuse me for asking what is perhaps obvious to you, but I'm assuming that you have sufficient funds IN THE RIGHT ACCOUNT ?? eg. If you are buying for the MLIA you need the funds in the MLIA , and not anywhere else, (such as your cash account.)

I have cash available in my MLIA account . I have loan buying instructions for #560 #542 #450 #373 #270 #221 and I have just checked that these loans all have units available.

I'd either call them or use the online chat facility (although the latter course of action didn't seem to help for Mick ) Irritating I know, and this definitely isn't the first occurrence of this issue.

I take no offence in your enquiry about funds in relevant accounts, I've made that mistake before. But yes the correct funds, plus some, are at the correct places to be used. .....I wonder if these investments are being kept for IFISA or corporates? Mick.

I just get the feeling, that perhaps the IT system is on the point of collapse with manual interventions constantly being needed. So many minor and a few Major things happening (Money going missing) and a continuity of banana skin situations, over a long period, without a major solution happening.

PM me your details and I'll take a look at the specifics. IT haven't had any specific instances passed on in the last few days so haven't investigated further but I need recreatable details to investigate.

Chris, do you want everyone in the same boat to PM details, or will you be aiming for a general rather than investor-specific solution? No thank you! I've found an issue where the aftermarket was allocating a loan unit for sale whilst it was asynchronously being sold elsewhere (yay for parallel programming timing complexity) and have coded a solution to resolve that automatically in the vast majority of cases. This was a side effect of moving code from the future platform upgrade into the existing code base adding an unintended consequence. This has been live since around 8:30 this morning and I've been keeping an eye on it and can see that it's alleviated that specific issue. Maybe let me know later on today if you're still not seeing any movement on loans where you are sure you should have been allocated something.

I have noticed in recent days the repayments of interest are a lot slickerer than they have been in recent months. I had the impression that job was manual and a short-straw chore assigned to the latest intern. Much improved now though, so thanks for that.

There were some major software changes made in the last few days to improve the process. It's still a manual trigger to make a payment but it's fire and forget from there on in rather than a process that needs to be run through.

So many minor and a few Major things happening (Money going missing) and a continuity of banana skin situations, over a long period, without a major solution happening. It is certainly a more complex IT system than many other p2p platforms out there due to the business model it is supporting which I am sure doesn't make it easy for the IT team. I am sure chris has very good rollback and recovery processes in place should a major issue occur.
