Prior to 7th February the text shown on the account statement against any repayment of principal was "Principal Repayment for loan xxxx".
It has now changed to "Principal Payment for loan xxxx", effectively inverting the sign of the narrative.
Not certain whether this is a correction of a longstanding error or a new error creeping into the system, I immediately raised it as an issue with live chat, I have yet to receive a reply.
Surely the earlier version was correct as the principal is being repaid to me.
Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that you are reading too much into this. I don't think that the difference between "payment" and "repayment" is analogous to "credit" and "debit", which I think is what you are suggesting.
Personally I think that "repayment" should be the preferred term in this instance, but I would understand "payment" as meaning the same thing and would accept its use especially if someone were short of character space in a report.

Most of the other transactions said 'payment' so we chose to standardise on that term.

I can try but I'm not directly involved in every release; sometimes things are turned around very quickly; and sometimes I'm juggling 100 things. So I can't make any promises. There'll be a very big release in roughly 8 - 10 weeks that will involve an extended period of downtime so it'll be widely flagged. There'll be further changes then.

When you do the change, suggest you don't use the text "We are currently in the process of upgrading our servers and our network infrastructure" or you'll give people a heart attack (with apologies to COL lenders)

I'll try and make sure that people don't get too scared but unfortunately there is an upgrade, there is a migration to another host, and it will take many hours for the database to import and the run through the conversion process from the old structure to the new. I'll make sure that once the date is finalised all lenders receive an email at least a few days in advance, that we continue to answer the phones, that there is a more comprehensive holding page put in place, and that the text is properly centred.
