Something has been bugging (pun intended ) me about this recent incident over the past couple of days. Does anyone else find it strange, to say the least, that this chap was based in Salisbury? Minutes away from Porton Down, Salisbury Plain, and numerous military bases.

This was a reminder that HMG really isn't in control

I suspect it is more about Putin having "an election" in the next few weeks and hence his announcement of having hypersonic nuclear weapons and from a Russian perspective demonstrating that he has finally hit one of the countries that encircle mother russia. NB from his people's perspective the west is a godless, agressive, semi-nazi society that constantly tries to weaken them. Hence any push back against 007 gets Putin more support and so fewer votes to miss-count.
Whatever May does, she gets no wins from this. If she hurts russia the natives feel attacked and so support the criminal regime, if she does nothing they warm to the cleverness of their great leader.
None of this is about the UK, this is all about the Kremlin and the messages he wants to send.

HMG is shamefully blocking disclosure as to the origins of some of the 'dark money', which funded the Leave campaign. With his wish fulfilled by Brexit success, Putin can use his 'non state actors' quite freely in friendless Britain. Triple vodkas all round!

www.rusemb.org.uk/fnapr/6419PRESS RELEASES AND NEWS 14.03.2018 Statement of the Russian Embassy On 14 of March Russian Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko was summoned to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office where he was informed that 23 diplomats were declared personae non gratae. We consider this hostile action as totally unacceptable, unjustified and shortsighted. All the responsibility for the deterioration of the Russia-UK relationship lies with the current political leadership of Britain.

Ironic in the extreme to act offended, when the last time the British positively identified a Russian murderer the Kremlin gave him diplomatic immunity and a medal for services rendered.

'All the responsibility for the deterioration of the Russia-UK relationship lies with the current political leadership of Britain.' Looks like their press releases are written by Guy 'Crazy Eyes' Verhofstadt .

Well, as our exciting new proposed trade relationships seem to need to be with various dictatorships and authoritarian states, perhaps we should get used to taking a soft line on such things as imprisoning journalists and murdering lawyers etc
