Hi All Just for general interest and please, Mr Moderator don't ban me for spam... we had nice coverage following a Reuters interview a few weeks ago: Fancy Investing in an plane?..and for those who speak German... or have a better Google translate than I clearly do: Collecting money for the planeClearly something was lost in the translation in the title or is it just the famous German efficiency telling us just how it is.. Regards Ablrate

Hi All
Just a quick note to let you know that after the Reuters article we have had quite a few registrations and requests to extend the current loan. We have extended it for 5 days and will be giving everyone in the loan 1% cash back to compensate and to adhere to our promise of having the 'instant returns' feature retrospective on this loan. Should have a small capital equipment loan on Ablrate tomorrow so will update then.
All the best Ablrate

I just made a bid today (you'll be pleased to hear)
ahem - nowhere on the bidding page, not even on the confirmation dialogue (are you sure....?) does it say which loan you are bidding on. This needs a quick fix.
Also I can't find the witdraw funds page, which isn't at all good
The deposit funds by debit card page autofills the CVV number, ahem.
I repeat, I really think you really need to sit down with spouses, siblings, neighbours and watch them floundering and flailing (and possibly actually failing) through all the processes.

Hi shimself Excellent, thank you. 1. Good point - we never thought that was necessary as you can only bid on the loan transaction that you are on at that time. However, for good housekeeping I think that is a good idea and will have it implemented, thanks (again!) 2. I will have a word with UPG who are our processors.. that is a secure page from them as we don't keep any payment information. It shouldn't autofill, but that maybe Chrome/Explorer/Firefox keeping the details... will take a look. 3. It is something that is on the cards.. to review the process flow and the information you guys are giving is very valuable to our thought process, so thanks for that. Regards Ablrate

Hi ablrateAnother thing that might need fixing is that there doesnt seem to be a way to get back to the main site from the support-FAQ. Clicking on the various home buttons just takes you back to the support front page. Doesnt seem to open in a new tab/page on my android tablet so there isnt the option of flicking to original tab/page (may not be true on windows) so i have to just use BACK which doesnt always work. shimself Withdrawl button is on ‘my financial account‘ page - something else that needs to be made more obvious ablrate and a much better explanation on how to do this provided as currently there is only one line in the FAQ which makes no reference as to when, how, speed & where funds will be sent

Il moro - We are speaking with Freshdesk (the third party provider) about this, but attempted a hack by placing 'home' text under the logo as if you click the logo it goes back to Ablrate. We will change the FAQ to make it clearer on the withdrawal. We will also look at making this a more prominent feature elsewhere on the site, so that you can go straight to that if required. We are doing an audit of all this UI feedback, so anything you come across let us know and we will add to the file for upgrade of the UI on the next update. Regards Ablrate

Regards Ablrate It's just the CVV that autofilled once I typed the first number. I do want to make the point, it's only when you watch other people that you realise the cockups they can make, damn customers. It might be as logical as anything to you, but other people will mess it up in no time. What did you think of the site? won't tell you much, but saying would you like to read through, decide on one you like, and go through all the steps to make a pretend bid will tell you a lot. I find the site quite a struggle at the moment sorry.
A site search might do some good quite quickly, even if the logic is iffy at least I can find things

Hi shimself No problem, will speak with the payment processors today. I take you point on the work flow. I have a couple of quick fixes coming, like a 'bid now' button so people don't have to go searching for the top bids tab. We will make the withdrawal button more prominent and we will look at the main features people use and make the navigation easier. This will be ahead of an overhaul of the UI to make it easier to navigate, but the quick fixes should make it a little better for you. Regards Ablrate

Hi ablrate, Whilst you're looking to update your site, I thought I'd add a couple of comments for you to consider. I've recently retired from security compliance work, and I'm sorry to say that I would have blocked your site from going live after trying my initial logon. Any site that has financial/personal details should have a 2 step authentication. The problem with just a username/passsword is that most people these days get their browsers to remember login details which makes this initial login very weak. It is also easily picked up if the user is infected with a key logger virus, or can be 'sniffed' if the user is connected via a wireless network. The idea for the second stage is that it should be something different like selecting a chosen specific picture from a multiple choice, or having another chosen passphrase and only supplying a few random characters from this, e.g. 2nd, 5th and 9th characters. This servers 2 purposes. It can help protect against the previous vulnerabilities mentioned, and also gives the user confidence that they are on the official site and not a 'cloned site' setup to harvest personal information. It also gives the user some peace of mind as it shows that the platform takes security seriously. Another security issue I noticed was that you are not automatically logged off after a period of inactivity. This means someone can gain access to your account if you forget you are logged in and leave your computer unattended. Usual times are between 5-10 minutes. Also, it may be worth re-asking for the users password when they change any of their personal details (if this is not already the case). One final point, when I was making a bid it did not show what my current available balance was. Sorry to ramble on for so long, but I do find from my previous work that security is always seen as an afterthought to a sites design, and not integrated well or with much thought. I've noticed that many of the P2P sites seem to be lacking in what I would consider basic security, so I'm not just nagging your site Good luck with the site re-design! cheers scubabeer
