Being pedantic is good in this context. We do need to be sure that we're getting the correct information to HMRC and that it's probably too complicated given the structures for the lenders themselves to work out what the correct situation is. Much better if we all discuss with Ablrate so they can work out how to get it done efficiently and none of us ends up getting HMRC excited. Hi We will get our accountants to give us a definitive on this issue and get the downloadable tax docs to comply. Regards Ablrate

More detail about tax My statement shows a total in interest, which in fact includes an "instant return" payment - is this interest do you think?

Hi I believe we are treating this as interest, simply because its variable dependent on when the bid was made. Essentially we are paying the interest from the time a bid is made until he borrower begins paying the interest. I can see your point as it could be classed as 'cash back'. Regards Ablrate

Exports to Excel
One thing which is consistently asked for from all p2p sites and is currently missing from your site is the ability to export data to excel spreadsheets. Not urgent as only a few loans at the moment but worth adding to "to do list". •Export of statement •Export of loans user is invested in. Also, couple of small typos 1) the full account statement screen is headed "statment" - missing e 2) if you hover over an out bid in sm transaction the tool tip text refers to "monay"
-
Hi unmadem Exporting to Excel.. No worries, that should be easy enough. Will get those changed... these kind of typos should eliminated from that section when the new UI for the SM and Accounts is uploaded. But if you spot any, let us know. Regards Ablrate Hi ablrateany progress/plans on the excel exports ?

We have been working with new developers on the new platform and will be including multiple options for downloading data in user required formats. Regards Ablrate

Secondary Market - show buyer rate on fixed auctions One the screen which shows all auctions available you show the existing rate and the offer price. It would be helpful if you could add the buyer interest rate i.e. the annual rate I would get if I take up the offer on fixed auctions. You do calculate this if you drop down to the lower level but it would be much more helpful if this was at the top level as quite frankly a good rate of interest is the main reason for bothering to look at the detail.
I can see in many cases your main screens are short of space as you have adopted quite a cluttered user interface with lots of different boxes taking width up on the right hand side. So you might have to drop a column to make space. Certainly for fixed rate auctions I am way more interested in what rate I as a potential buyer will get that what the existing owner is getting so that could be dropped or put it in the "rate offered" column which is currently only used for bidding auctions.
As an aside I would also comment that here and in other places there is little room to display the loan desc/id and if you are doing a larger development you might reconsider your overall layout of the user interface to create space for more columns in the main transactional screens. You have hinted that you are going to introduce more types of loans and I suspect you will wish to display different info with a cleaner interface. Others might have a different view of course.

Thanks for your feedback We are, at the moment, working with developers to build an entirely new system/interface and the SM is being totally redesigned to show more relevant information and tools to make selecting loans easier, along with a tool that we think you all will love - but that is for another day! We are also, in parallel working on bettering the existing platform until the new one is live, so will get onto these types of changes. Regards Ablrate

direct debit deposit
At the moment we need to type in the full address. Can this not be prefilled as you hold it.
The name is prefilled but as this is prefilled with our display name which is not usually our real name I think it would be better if this was removed.
What is the purpose of email and telephone no on this screen ?

A)You give a figure labelled "interest earned" which is good but can I suggest you change the label to "income paid". My reasoning is 1) in is not just interest but also instant returns and any other incentive you may create 2) it does not include accrued interest since the last interest payment on each loan, which I would argue we have earned. But it does match the total of interest paid on the statement.
B) It would be useful if you added an accrued interest total somewhere on the site especially if you do plan to have loans where interest is only paid at term as it can make quite a different to your overall return.
C) Also you do not appear to have a single figure anywhere to show the total investment in the platform. Ok you can work it out by adding the "available funds", "active bids" and "funds lent" but better you do it.

Hi I will take these into account. We are, at the moment, designing and building a completely new system which will take care of these issues. There will also be analysis tools that will give you performance of your investments across the entire platform. We are still improving the current site and will look at these changes also.
