'Customer Service Call'

I've just had a 'customer service call' out of the blue from a chap at LY, asking if there was anything he could help me with. I suggested he might like to spend his time helping chase up our money from defaulters rather than making unsolicited calls to lenders. Maybe he's a newbie as he seemed surprised I wasn't singing his employer's praises.

Are these calls standard or are LY trying to find new ways of wasting money?
